The thing has a range of at least 125 km and altitude of 30 km.

Doesn't really matter. Let's just say it's the least capable Chinese SAM we have to deal with.
HQ-9A and FD-2000 are the same and production of both has stopped.
Any new export must be something different.
230km is the range of Chinese version so it's obvious export version will have less range. Don't forget just few days ago u guys were shooting aircrafts from 300 km using pl 15.
Likewise you guys have deported PAF to Afghanistan in 2015, saying that India "has" 600 km range S-400 and can Shoot all PAF jets anywhere in Pakistans air space, and the only way for PAF to continue operating is to do so from Afghanistan.

But it will be another hurdle if we want to conduct air strikes like before. Remember their missiles however pathetic/under ranged may be need to get one hit for a propaganda.
As expected pakistan resorted to cheapest available deterrence. Either we call their bluff by conducting an airstrike or do nothing which will embolden them to brazenly push more terrorists into kashmir.

Also depends on the FCR the missile system is integrated to. No one knows which one Pakistan will integrate it with. So it's very early to ejaculate in happiness.
whether it works or not is a different matter. They might even put dummy systems to prevent India from taking any action. More than what they do its our actions & behavior that matters and define us.
By the time India does all the risk analysis to fight or not, puts tender for another new version of spice bomb that can be safely launched from moon, more terrorists would have got aadhar card in kashmir.
I am more skeptical about Netted radar system which I asked @randomradio to clarify. It seems that they are doing this. Now radars in Aksai Chin will track Indian fighters and relay it to Pakistani fighters and on ground FCRs for Hq9. In this way they will put more pressure on Indian ECM in air.
They want to play BVR without actually crossing the IB.

Pakistan being a narrow country and only 1500km long from Khunjarab to Karachi, will only need 7 launchers to create a wall of high altitude air defence.
That is if we consider the missiles having the range of just 125km .

Are you implying the Chinese have exported superior technology than what they themselves use?
All that I stated was a fact. I used to say the same thing before. If we counter Chinese weapons, then Pak weapons will also be automatically countered. Nothing's changed. You will have to admit that if we end up enjoying an overwhelming advantage over the J-10C in a war with China, then your JF-17 is not going to do any better.
Same story with the HQ-9 that you just got, you can bet the Chinese use missiles that are even more advanced, like the HQ-9C and HQ-29. If we counter those, your missiles are going to get countered too.
Yep. It's a pretty good decision on their part to go for it. It does complicate our options.
We took the same call with the S-400. But what's more important is these SAMs are going to the army instead of the air force. Which means the PA doesn't trust the PAF to protect them anymore.
The HQ-9 is not such a big problem when it comes to launching punitive air strikes. With PoK's terrain, there will be plenty of tactical options to avoid the SAMs. Firstly I doubt the SAM was procured in enough numbers to cover all of PAF's airspace. Secondly, the range of our PGMs in the same class as the Spice has doubled.
Where the SAM does play a part is by preventing UAVs from coming in close enough to target their positions. Right after Balakot, the PAF exited the PoK airspace and this allowed our artillery to hit PA positions with impunity. Probably why the PA got these SAMs instead of the PAF.
