Like the Word "Mallu" I dont have a problem some one calling me a mallu, ( I am proud to be one) but i have come across people who try to use the word in abusive manner...... Mallu is a short form of Malayali, which is not a deregatory term, where as Commie is short form of Communist - Which is a derogatory word.... So we cannot make rules based on short forms or longer forms..... We have taken the usage of the word for the consideration.....

Do you consider use of such Fancy Word's as Name Calling or not? If yes, any rule you have in place to Ban members for using such terms?
Check the rules thread.......If that was not there the complaint would not have raised in first place....
Checked. I'd Reiterate that you've (Moderation Team) failed to implement rules. Even though member(s) uses those Fancy words in every other Posts & they are been reported - I don't see them ban & that's not my Illusion.

"mallu" is a name usually given to dalits and low caste workers. Malayalees started referring to other Malyalees as "mallus" in a tongue in cheek manner.
Very much the way the term "Bawa" was used for parsis. In a tongue in cheek manner to indicate a crazy old man.
Well most young and non-crazy Parsis are also called bawa. We don't mind. It does not make us less than what we truly are in any way.
The entire "crazy bawa" thing itself is an urban myth perpetuated by the general Hindu populace which tends to do such to minorities it feels a bit shall we say "intimidated" by.
Case is point being all the surd jokes floating all around.
Truth be told, Parsis are and will always be different than the local populace because we do not inter-breed. This means we look different, speak different, think different, and have our own unique value system which we do not care to either modify to "fit in" or "be Indian" so to speak.
If the rest of Indians call that being sanki or crazy, so be it. Does it matter to us, or does it offend us? Hardly.
It comes with being confident in your own skin and your roots and what you are and where you came from and what you have achieved.
It also comes from not taking too seriously what "others" think of you or say about you. We have our own internal jokes about many of you too. But that's a story for another time and place ....

The terms are not derogatory, people are. One should not paint a term derogatory black and blue, their usage and context need to be taken into consideration.
Communist itself is a non derogatory term, but it is derogatory to be called communist when you hate communism.
Similarly s.anghi is derogatory for people who support BJP but do not abide to s.angh ideology. I hope you will not come up with transient logic saying BJP abide to s.angh, so automatically BJP supporter do the same. That will be very trivial to say.
