I think that ship had sailed even if they agree.
They must be delighted that the Rafale M deal is signed otherwise it would have been a risk.
Still for carriers operations there is almost no alternative so nothing can be done.

I would be very surprised if we order more Rafales now.

Well said. Even if US put a lot of pressure, belligerents could have continued to fight several weeks before US pressure become impossible to avoid.

If US managed to get ceasefire in 2 days, that's purely because both sides wanted it.

Dont think Modi had any appetite for full scale War unless backed into a corner.
War is bad for business and he is a Gujarati so if possible he will avoid at all costs. He would very much be up for these short skirmishes.

And personally think thats the right call. China for 50y kept its head down and just focussed on development. Once you have money you call push people around.

From 5th gen on trying to replace primary sensors no longer makes sense. A better option is to do a long term MKIzation of Rafale, but that's not affordable either.

Whichever weapon requires radar is the one that's the most difficult. The rest are all equally difficult in terms of SPECTRA integration.

I'm not sure about Russia. There are other political considerations now.

Likely DGISPR target audience is Pak-Poon-jabi and Chootpuri PoK crowd of Pakistan. Its communications are wholely meant for local consumption.

*censored* Iran and their sensitivities. Their supreme leader has been giving speeches against Indian control over Kashmir for some time. Unlike Arya, he is their leader. We don't owe any of them, especially when they have a history of hostile political activities.

That's easy to fix though. MMRCA initially came with an agreement for Indian weapons integration that they had to agree to before participation. But ToT surrounding it requires a large enough order, something we have boxed ourselves into via two separate small orders.

Financially too, they have allowed fuselage construction and assembly of the jet along with MRO for engine, weapons, and avionics. So they are gonna insist on a second IAF order before they allow integration and more ToT, like engine production. The 3 combined orders then will be big enough, not counting MRFA.

The issue being weapons integration on Rafale requires integration with SPECTRA. This is not the case with all the other aircraft we operate due to the federated nature of the EW suite and weapons suite.

Another thing we can solve is ask for the integration of our own EA pod if we think SPECTRA is insufficient. In the short term this will be more important than weapons integration.

Look it is one thing to *censored* someone, it is other thing to piss them off that they no longer want to *censored* you. Pakistanis are pigs so they should be pissed off but Iran needs to be *censored*ed but not pissed off.

We've integrated RAMPAGE(maybe ROCKS too) with our Jaguars. Maybe that's why they could pop-up and deliver the decisive strike which Rafale couldn't do because of Hammer's range or lack of it. Gotta add Indian & Israeli weapons to make it more potent. Ironic that Vstol said about Jag being better than Rafale as one of Rafale's prime objectives was to replace Jags in deep-penetration role.
