ICG likely to induct 10 new advanced light helicopters by May 2022

Last time we took so much time for negotiations that Airbus refused to lower the prices.
In my opinion Navy needs around 16-20 such helicopters immediately too , to replace the 6 Mk42C and 6 UH3H for transport, Search n Rescue etc.
If Coast Guard and Navy go out into the market together then companies will take the attempt more seriously.

What exactly has prompted the prices of these heptrs to be so high ? Gold plated engines or something ?
12 H225M meant to replace SeaKing in SAR for Malaysia cost them around 500 million USD approx 15 years back.
A helicopter of that class optimised for operations over sea with some kind of self protection suite and sensors armed aint gonna come cheap.
Plus usually now we are attaching 5 years of service contracts for high availability in new contracts. Must contain those numbers too.
Anyways this is just my guess.
ICG will operate these 14 choppers from shore - presumably spread across the coastline. Its a very good capability to have but at commensurate cost. Best dump this tender and order more ALH, and express interest to HAL to develop marine version of IMRH - could happen in approx 10 years time.
