Indian Hypersonic Propulsion Developments

This makes it more confusing !

Why skip "anti-ship" and "ballistic" from the PR? What about ET-LDHCM and project Dhvani, Vishnu ? Is it really hypersonic or just during terminal.
Looks like it is going to a family of different systems including the land attack and anti ship versions.

ET-LDHCM is Project Vishnu a scramjet engine powered hypersonic cruise missile.

Project Dhwani is an unpowered Hypersonic Glide Weapon which will be mounted most probably on a ICBM.

The exposed kv (kill vehicle) /cv (cruise vehicle) on top of a booster motor kinda indicates the missile is not supposed to go out of atmosphere ? rather it fly well within the atmos level hence very hard to detect at long ranges. I would guess the glide by kv is capable of doing k15 like altitude but at a much higher target reach ?

The HGV which goes on top of some ICBM would almost certainly be under a fairing esp if mirv'ed? I mean why expose it to atmospheric wear tear if it is to clear the atmos ?

Is there any chance of this missile being air-launch capable by our fighter jets?

only if you can minaturise it from a 20 ton simulated version to under 2.5 ton . This is seen from a distance but its huge. Almost A1P sized dia wise, maybe a little more, and there is a pic of A1P with people around. Just imagine how big. Lets see how rudram IV turns out.

I think this was a rapid prototyping effort for meeting urgent operational needs. The PLAN is projected to send CBGs into the IOR as early as 2026. This sytem should provide deterrence until the HCM and HGV programs mature.

HCM and HGV are cutting edge tech and multiple tests will be required to fully prove it.

This is very similar to approach US is also taking.
They have a conical warhead with wings for Navy and Army called C-HGB.
And then they have a wedge shaped warhead for their airforce called TBG or ARRW aka "Super-Duper-Missile".

Dhawni will be similar to ARRW while LRAShM will be similar to C-HGB.

Meanwhile Project Vishnu ie follow up of HSTDV will be similar to X-43A waverider of NASA.

Ultimate aim of this missile is to attack Chinese Ships in south China sea from either Indian soil or from Indian sea. This is a great deterrence. In 1971, US sent its 7th fleet to help Pakistan. Now any such moment shall be deterred with the combination of Long range Brahmos capable of being fired from either long-range strategic bomber or Su 30 MKI, Costal defense system and LRASHM.

Bolo Siyavar Ram Chandra ki Jay.

This is a hypersonic missile but uses rocket motor only and hence inferior to HSTDV. Real advantage of hypersonic vehicle can be achieved when Scramjet engine is used. Once we successfully operationalize HSTDV, probably we shall be second to Russia only to use this technology. We have LASER and hypersonic vehicle in making. When we achieve this, we shall be a very strong country so far as defense is concern.

The design of the new LR-AShM seems to have been inspired by the Brahmos airframe. Since we have perfected the seeker and the algorithm to control the missile at MACH 5 using four fins, I believe that the new LR AShM missile is also capable of hitting the ship by performing S maneuvers and sea skmming like Brahmos and The black tip material seems to be a composite alloy used for heat resistance and may be borrowed from HSTDV.

The last part, yes.

But I'm not sure how much of BrahMos airframing knowledge went into LRAShM considering they are designed for very different velocity regimes.

Same for S-maneuvers. While capable of maneuvering to a certain extent, the LRAShM won't be able to do everything BrahMos can because it'll be moving about twice as fast.
