Indian Hypersonic Propulsion Developments

In the Space and defence session of the Bengaluru summit , during his speech, Dr BK Das sir said this was HCM test.

So it is possible that multi payload part is true and this rocket which went up is a multi purpose system where the top kill vehicle part is modular. You can fit a HCM with the cruise vehicle, you can fit an HGV , you can probably use the same booster into a high end BMD/AD/multi kill vehicle role as well with minor applicable modifications.

hear for yourself

This is a rather recent ToT , November 2023 . I doubt this was used in Shaurya kind of system even though thermal stability upto 1200deg.
For external body coating DRDL has developed this LDAM & Carbon phenolic ablative tiles. If those tiles were used it would be very visible. So, I figured this would be the coating used.
For HCM they are using the YSZ coating for internal portion use.
Yes, base alloys used in combustion chambers is Nimoic alloys, Inconel alloys etc. Thermal barrier coating would be YSZ & LZ. And of course, there would be internal cooling channels.
Pinaka QRSam etc are also high mach systems that use epdm ?
Don't think so. The flight time is too less.

Its not too different from the assumption that its a general config for multi application then, unless they are very very keen on optimising a 14 ton product into some heavy air launch platform based version , which obviously opens up another prospect of suitable aerial platform aka TU-160 bomber kind of bird.

Most reasonable part is obviously the general structure being a high performance booster + a kv on top which can be powered or not. This general aerodynamic structure once proved performance wise can be tweaked for the air launched HCM version, which is planned to be DMRJ based at the very least. Can be optimised for Brahmos ALCM like weight category to fit the su30.
