Today a family is saved from getting destroyed.
What if this guy had IED under his waist which could be remotely triggered by one of his accomplices. It would have resulted in several casualties in IA.
Something similar happened in Pathankot Airbase attack.
Our forces need to develop SOP to deal with such situations.
Discrediting the deserter is an age old tradition to keep morale of remaining troops high.
I think Indian army figures include KIA along LoC as well... Still, casualty rate is really high.
