Kashmir : Counter Terror Operation Updates and Discussions

@Shajida Khan

We can't use conventional weapons on Pakistan so blatantly. We can, but the problem is they can also retaliate with the same calibre of weapons. So the onus will then fall on us to escalate, which will actually backfire.

Whatever we do should put the ball in their court, like the surgical strikes in 2016. They could not escalate from that point and had to instead lie to their people about it. We need to put them in an awkward position that puts a hole in their morale.

Just wait and watch , how we smash their Ego

Armed forces have been aware that such a situation will arise , where we have to retaliate

Our public has to be presented with the
Justification for war , and now we have one

We should not be to hit any random target. We should be hitting DHAs. Defence Housing Association projects. Lets see how long can Pakistan play this game of chicken with us. BTW, Most of major Pakistani cities are quite near to border. Lastly, we have never done this before. ie making Pakistan's Army bet its own houses and family. They are the movers and shakers in that country.

The plan should be simple. Start with Lahore DHA and say it was not us but some random afghani hit you using long range weapons stolen from US bases. Next attack hit two more DHAs in Islamabad and Lahore. Next 4. Next 16. So on. And never say it was a retaliation. And always say "We condem this terrorist attack on pakistan very much!"

72 hrs. Yes just 72hrs is all we need to smash Pakistan and alter the map of the world.

Attacking families of army men will not work, only backfire on us, especially internationally. Our soldiers were attacked, so we need to make their soldiers pay, not their families.

We shouldn't go to war until we have a proper BMD system in place, particularly ones protecting critical military infrastructure and the metro cities. Pakistan isn't our only 'enemy'.

What are the other options we have other than going to war?

We never attack families. Afghani Terrorist did that. Or Balochi home grown terrorists did that. They are emboldened by US withdrawl from Afghanistan. We always condem any violence in strongest words. Why is it so hard to understand?

Also Pakistan should "Do More" to control terrorism.

That's now how it works though. Yeah, we will kill a few, then they will attack us and claim the Afghans did it too. The next day, life will go on as usual.

I'd much rather see much more tangible gains than just some knee-jerk reactions. What I'd like to see is increasing the stress on their economy instead. We have withdrawn MFN status, which doesn't do much, but I'd like to see the withdrawal of IMF, WB, ADB loans et al. We need to make their pockets bleed first.

Then we need to make them spend more money and throw more bodies on useless stuff, like fighting the TTP and Balochis.

Killing them and their families does nothing. They have no shame and they completely lack integrity. All they can feel for real is the lack of money, so that's where we should hit.

No one said we should hire TTP and or Balochis...

Let me break it down.

Lets say you mess with me daily. Unfortunately, we live in a country where neither police nor law works. So what do I do? Messing you head on is troublesome for me. You carry a knife. I also have one but that fight will leave both of us bloodied. I know you have family in the town and you cann't send them away. So, one day I beat up your kid black and blue. Next day you come all charged and I say "Oh, I didn't do it, you have so many other enemies." Also I keep my knife in full view. You try to mess with my family but most of them are out of your reach. Beside, if you hit one of my family member, I hit two of yours. Surely, you will hesitate in messing with me un-necessarily.

As I have said before , killing of few terrorists or destroying their launch pad will not serve our purpose. As terrorist are cheap tool ,used by Pakistani military to attack us.They can easily be replenished and by their very nature terrorist are expendables, they have to die sooner or later.

So,if we have to do any kind of retaliation with long lasting consequences, imho the best bet would be to target their airbases and destroy their important air assets like F16 ,awacs and c 130 etc in numbers as much as possible.Pakistan is already going through financial crisis ,destroying their air assets will be a huge set back to them,as they will be forced to invest more money in replenishing them. This will be a loud and public thrashing to Pakistan ,as this is something it cannot deny,or hide from its citizen.

This is something ,if done successfully will be etched in history and will be remembered for times to come, whenever there will be talk of retaliation to a terrorist act.Since the loss will be in terms of military asset and not civilians lives, world reaction will only be limited to condoning this act,and requesting both side for peace.

With most of its air force destroyed ,Pakistan will be forced to think hard before escalating further.

This act will not only cause public humiliation to Pakistan but also increase there economical sufferings.

and how exactly do you propose that their air assets are destroyed? through a fidayeen attack or cruise missiles? because if we use our air force to take out their air force, then that's an open declaration of war.

Only non-state actors can pull that off, not another country.
