Movie Thread

A wonderful review of an epic trilogy by Taylor Sheridan on the loss / dying of the American frontier brilliantly summarising the similarities & philosophy of these movies & their themes.

A must watch for all those thinking neo noir / neo western thriller buffs which has a lot of layers beyond what's visible .

Wonder if you've heard of these movies Paddy . Be warned they aren't your usual action movies as in no huge body count by the second like Rumbo or The Expendables, although it does have some remarkably choreographed action set pieces. @BMD

Here, Paddy.

Your kind of movie.

Rumbo redux for the 2020s .

Ever since the Americans & their bum chums - UK got bummed very badly by the Tali bunnies, their reputation has been in tatters among their people.

What better way than a make believe movie to rekindle respect for their armed forces by showing a serving / ex service personnel get back to Afghanistan & settle scores with a rag tag bunch of guerillas who bummed them in the first place?!

When you're denied victory in real life, why bother , especially when you can easily achieve catharsis thru a movie given you're the largest film producer in the world !

Hence The Covenant.

Next yr it'd be Rumbo Redux in Ukraine battling the beasts there. No, Paddy I'm not referring to the Irish but your brothers from another mother - the Russkies.

S1E3 of Rabbit Hole was pretty much a description of what's going on in the world right now.
