Shahid Latif, the mastermind behind the Pathankot attack, was shot down in Pakistan on Wednesday. Latif was one of India's most wanted terrorists from Pakistan's Gujranwala city and was a handler of the four terrorists who sneaked into the Pathankot Air Force station in 2016.
Latif was known as the launching commander of the Pakistan-based terrorist organisation Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM).
Reports said Latif, sitting in Pakistan, coordinated with four JeM terrorists and sent them to Pathankot to launch the attack on the airbase.
In 1994, Shahid Latif was arrested in India on charges of terrorism. Later in 2010, he was deported to Pakistan.
