Indian Coast Guard (ICG) ship ‘Arinjay’ rescued seven fishermen from Okha based Indian Fishing Boat (IFB) Harsiddhi-5 which sank on Thursday off International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) between Indian and Pakistan.

On receipt of the radio information regarding distress onboard Indian Fishing Boat (IFB), Harsiddhi, Indian Coast Guard (ICG) ship on patrol, proceeded with maximum speed towards the reported position. On arriving at the position ICG ship noticed debris of the IFB along with one survivor in the water and few lifebuoys of Pakistan Maritime Security Agency Ship (PMSS) Barkat in the area. The ship recovered the partially conscious survivor and administered first aid. The survivor during preliminary interrogation informed that the PMSS Barkat had fired on the boat and hit twice during dark hours of 6 October that resulted in the sinking of the boat. The survivor also informed that, six out of seven crew were then captured onboard by the Pak ship. ICG, on learning about it, communicated with PMSS Barkat to release the Indian crew immediately as they were captured on the Indian side of the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL). This was compiled upon by the PMSA ship which released the crew to ICG ship at IMBL resulting in release and safety of all seven crew. The crew were administered first aid and brought to Jakhau.

The matter regarding firing and hitting of IFB is being investigated and will be taken up accordingly through appropriate channels.

This incident also will be ignored, jast as Feb 27 incident.
Atleast for the PN and PMSS assets, I think we should have good enough surveillance capabilities that whenever anyship is within 20-30km of our territorial waters, we should have a Navy/Coast Guard vessel shadowing it. Always.

They have 2 OPVs, 4 small OPVs, 6 Fast Patrol Vessels, 10+ smaller boats in MSA. Further they have 2 OPVs in Navy, 4 missile Corvettes , 4 Missile Boats, 4 Patrol Boats which they usually use.

We can easily shadow this small fleet.

Shadowing them will make incidents like this difficult to do on part of Salwar guys. And for god's sake add a SRGM on all OPVs.

But then again as it went more or less unreported, I doubt any action will be taken on our part.

It will not be. Now ICG with IN support will fire back and sink any Pak ship trying to capture our boats and that includes strafing from air by ICG Do-228 aircraft and that of IN.
Is it a confirmation or just what you & we wants to happen?

Probably RoE.
There was a time ,PN even not dare to have a look on us. Things changed a lot since 2014, while we ignored IN , pakistan continuously build their Navy. We didn't place order for any new destroyer since 2014,while PN Inducted many surface vessels which procured from china & west. If 2003-14 is a lost years for our military ,2014- today is the horrible years, sadly it will continue to next seven years.

And after reading member @South block yesterday about nuclear submarine..

Not very promising..
The SSBN thing is going fine.

Meets our requirements against our threats and improvements will come along. SSBN and SLBM programs are going on fine. Along with Agni P, a new IRBM and a new ICBM.

Direct assistance both in funds and decision making is available via PMO in these things.

Well boomers need to be quite , our probably as loud as late 70s or early 80s Soviet subs, since Arihant is a technology demonstration it was Expected to be that way but u would expect improvement in subsequent subs.
All we have seen so far is increase in length & probably more powerful reactor. IMINT experts were seeing a Pump jet , turn out be the same old 7 blade screw.
