Rafale DH/EH of Indian Air Force : News and Discussions

So 4th gens vs chicom stealth fighter... IAF/politicians need to get its collective head out of its collective cheeks and somehow start getting stealth fighters of their own as soon as possible.

If the Rafale doesn't suit the role, we will get some Su-57s. But, at this time, the IAF believes Rafale + AMCA are enough.

It's true though. The PL-15 exceeds the range of the Meteor.

My list-- High altitude, direct shot:
MICA RF = 80Km
RVV-AE = 85Km
Derby = 100Km
AIM-120C5 = 105Km
RVV-SD = 110Km
Astra Mk1 = 110Km
AIM-120C7 = 120Km
AIM-120D = 170Km
I-Derby ER = 200+Km
R-77M = 220Km
Meteor = 250Km
PL-15 = ~300Km
Astra Mk2 = ~300Km
AIM-260 = ~300Km

You can see the progressive improvement. As a newer development, AIM-260 should outstick PL-15.

I-Derby ER onwards, the lethality of the missiles increases by a large margin due to the improved propulsion tech; dual pulse and ramjet. We should eventually see triple pulse as well as multistage missiles.

The export version of the PL-15 is advertised at 145Km, whereas Astra Mk2 is said to be 160Km, both figures are obviously at medium altitude. So the PLAAF's version is likely similar to Astra Mk2.

Lobbed ranges will be much higher, like Astra Mk2 should easily achieve 400Km. Although lobbed missiles have much lower accuracy, they are still useful against large RCS targets like AWACS and tankers.

You make crap up and you can't admit when you're full of yourself.

You know the I-Derby ER isn't a 200km+ missile. Even Rafael says this.

You also know the Aim-120D is a 200+km missile you just can't admit to yourself you're are wrong cause of that Indian ego of yours.

Here are two sources that fox-3's your lies/claims. See what I did there? I'm so clever. Anyways post your sources that backs up your lies/claims, bub.

Derby's figure is at medium altitude.

The AIM-120 in the article is a new variant. That's obvious. Nothing special. C5 came out in 2002, C7 in 2006, C8/D came out in 2014, so it's about time for the next version, C9... call it D2 or D3 or whatever they finally reveal it as. Even the regular D version can do more than its direct fire range when lobbed, which could exceed 250Km.

My list obviously doesn't mention new weapons.

Lie. Prove it.

Lie. Prove the aim-120d was a new variant. The D model the way it is will not have upgraded variants like the aim-120c.

@Moderator. Whoever deleted my reply that is similar to this new reply the previous post was on topic or of "value." Seems someone doesn't understand the topic.
