Delhi government has decided to use helium leak detection technology to check leakage in the water pipeline. Modern technology will provide information about leakage in the pipeline without digging roads in various places. Helium gas is introduced into the pipeline, followed by drilling at multiple locations. The location of the leakage is determined by observing the ascent of helium gas to the surface. Until now, information on leakages has been sought from the road or due to leakage inside the ground wherein pits had to be dug up to find the point of the leakage from the pipeline.
