Sukhoi Su-30MKI

Ofcourse the bvr advantage could have changed by a single purchase plus the IAF already had a lot of decent bvr missiles. The whole day of 27th Feb was a drama. A propaganda move with nothing of substance. There was literally no logic of flying 24 aircrafts and then missing all the bombs. There main objective was to shootdown a su 30 mki to show there awam that they can defeat the IAF any time they want. The problem was that they were so focused on taking out the su 30 that abhinandan's mig 21 closed up to one of the f16's *censored* and shot it down. The mig went down too. But who would have though that a mig 21 would be the one to go inside Pakistani airspace and shoot it down. Luckily for the Pakistani awam our idiot media went for two su 30 mki's shot down to two mig 21 shotdown it was like India Today wanted the IAF to lose. Later on there incompetent dgispr just couldn't keep his mouth shut and instead gave us enough circumstantial evidence that the f 16 was missing instead of doubling down on that the GoI didn't do shit. Stupid press briefings with literally no information was shown. The whole thing was a fifth gen war like Mr Pravin von sawhwnstein says with no substance but all of the drama. The Pakistanis happily hid their casualties as usual our media experienced a meltdown because of their and GoI's incompetennce and we are here today.
PAF got way more of a reality check than the IAF got. The biggest blunder though was the mi-17 fratricide which showed how our Air force guys can't really hold pressure.
The one thing I learned from the 27th Feb air skirmish is that PAF is extremely scared of entering Indian airspace.
Drama for valiant Internet warriors but not for those who never came home

Sadly conflict in present day has become a reality show rather than a serious thing. Hanging out in subs like R/combatfootage or watching some vice war documentaries will pretty much desensitize an individual..

Of course Internet makes people brave. They can defeat the whole world from the basement of house singlehandedly.

Being desensitized and being brave are two different things. You can watch all the porn you want doesn't change the fact the you wont be able to perform the deed when it needs to be done so yeah...

Surely. But what concerns me is the problem stated in Livefist report:

"After grappling for years with the pod, the Indian Air Force finally in 2015 realised it simply couldn’t use them for two reasons. One, they were heavy — and when slung onto wingtip hardpoints, they cut into flying envelope like a butcher’s knife.

‘With the Russian pods, the Sukhoi is basically a transport aircraft,’ one of the scientists says."

I wish the new indigenous jammer fix the problem and in near future, we'll see MKI with EW pods as well as AAMs, just like E/A-18. I know it is quite not as good as Growler, cos it still misses two more pods. But I guess even though it doesn't feature an integrated EW suite like Rafale or MiG-29UPG, it is still very effective EW platform to counter the challenges of west.

Any idea if it was used during Op Bandar as a part of the cover for Mirages?

And if possible, can anyone explain or atleast send a detailed account (article or PDF) of Remora ECM pods? I can't find much on the internet.

The Growler have a solid EW attack suit, its electrical wirings are rated for high capacity and designed to work in intense electromagnetic environment without any interference,and it's gun is replaced with some crazy EW equipment.

We can also make MKI like growlers,the production line is still open. Two squadron airframe can be made and later convert to EW attack fighter.

I am dreaming of the day when our Sukhoi's and Tejas will be flying with just Indian A2A missiles (Astra 1, Astra 2, Astra IR). Rudram, SAAW & Guided Munitions. By then we should have couple of Squadrons of Tejas Mk1A and few Sukhoi's with Super Sukhoi upgrade.

@Picdelamirand-oil

The increased power is needed not only to create a reserve of traction. It is needed to power the more advanced avionics on board. Thanks to this, it became possible to install a powerful radar on the aircraft with an increased detection range of air and ground targets and to provide power to the electronic warfare system.
