Talk by P Mahuli of CEMILAC on "Concurrent Certification in the Design & Development of HTT 40 Basic Trainer Aircraft"
- Its a 2-3 ton UAV
- 1,800kg -> 2,800kg, inital design -> first prototype
- Want to reduce the weight by 280 kgs.
- Single engine twin boom design was optimal
- Uses GAGAN semi-auto take off and landing (ATOL)
- Full ATOL in development
- One variant cannot meet all service requirements.
- Single engine twin-boom configuration in future.

- P&W was the first choice of engine which they declined. (Pilatus ?)
- It just took 11 months to detailed design to first prototype
- HTT-40 did 38+ test flights
- DM reviewed the project 8 times in 11 months before first flight. His support was crucial.
- Reused LRUs from LCA,HTT-36 and ALH
