Tejas Mk2 (Medium Weight Fighter) - News and discussions

He is not a politician to flaunt you with jumlas.
Old scientists of DRDO and ADA always gives us jumla. It's my experience speaking, these old horses will disappear the moment the deadline comes. People at ADA has this habit of over inflating the progress and then hiding behind ADA walls when people question their progress. Anantha here was not scrutinizing their work, he is just setting up the things for Aero India. Nobody from ADA has ever explained delay due to too many iterations in MK1 LSPs, overweight, etc.

Even today, none of them are saying a thing about reduction in weight of MK1A.

Do you think these guys want to personally delay these projects ?

Lol, He is not clueless ...I think some people are not good at communication but good in their technical field also it may be due to the fear factor of heading a govt defense project. I think these interview questions are prepared prior to the interview and Dr. Rao just reading them from the paper on the desk.

Many people under clutter A( anxiety & avoidance) personality will faulter on stage.
Such personalities won't even agree to give interview in the first place.

And I too belong to that group.

To dikkat kya hai isme?😂
Kids now a days gets excited too early, fir galiyon pe galiyan denge ADA ko after 2023.:ROFLMAO:

A decade back we used to get excited and then lost interest in defense forum bcoz these lethargic babus. Bachho ko pata hona chahiye ki sarkari scientist actually scientist nahi hote. Dr Rao, has been promoted bcoz of seniority in ada, till date he has no achievement to his name, informed by a friend from ADA.

Note : Lets not derail this thread further. MK2 is very crucial project for IAF and keeping this thread clean is equally important.

While your point is well taken, the Mk-2 is expected to roll out by Aug 2022 & first flight is scheduled for Aug 2023. Even assuming delays, it should be in months not years unlike what happened in the past. I don't think You can make up things like that as you're insinuating.

How long will the certification take is another matter but I believe they should adhere to the 2029-30 deadline, by & large. The most difficult part of realising an aircraft as per specifications was over with the Mk-1 since that was the first time for ADA. While the future isn't going to be a cakewalk by any yardstick they would bring a certain confidence to their job, abilities, performance, forecasting, etc which they didn't have prior to Mk-1.

Dr. Rao looks clueless in the interview. Typical old promoted to post where he has no vision or energy. He has one project under him and can't remember the timeline of MK2. No wonder ADA people are lying to the nation.
You shouldnt watch this :censored:

This is gold mine of information.
Main Findings..
Will have 992 TRM Uttam AESA
Can carry upto 8 BVRs simultaneously which is highest in the world for this class.
Better STR
There are three stations which can carry upto 1800 kg.
Will have smaller RCS than MK1 by using radar absorbing material and radar absorbing paint.
It will have sensors on fin, spine, and belly which will provide it spherical coverage.
It will incorporate all types of EW suits.
Trying to get meteor.
