Ukraine - Russia Conflict

That entire nation is filled with idiots, look at how easily they give up their nuke, strategic bombers & nuke delivery systems after getting independence.
Even if they don't want to give up, it's impossible. Nuclear weapons, ICBMs, TU160, these are not things that a country with a broken industrial system can maintain.

Abandoning them in exchange for US-Russian security guarantees is more practical

Ys, it required funds & support for strategic bombers, thats not the case with nukes & missiles. If north korea can maintain, definitely Ukrain can also do the same.

US Air Force Spy Plane Takes Spotlight In Empty Ukraine Airspace

This is what I stated earlier. @Ginvincible

No better time for the Lightnings to stand up & be counted. If the RuAF jets start dropping off the skies thanks to EA (& ahem E Virus like Stuxnet ) deployed by the F-35 teaming up with UkAF who'd then shoot down the disabled fighters, the world'd know especially the "frogs" you have a winner else if they turn tail & scram we'd know it's an Afghanistan. @WHOHE

Russian troops enter the disputed zone in Ukraine.

That's nothing lets see them enter beyond where the rebels hold the land where Ukrainian arty are well positioned and backed by 40-50k troops.
Rising Tensions in Eastern Ukraine

Putin recognizes all of Donetsk and Luhansk as independent not just the small parts held by the "rebel scum."

Think about it... Russia hasn't really faced a "proper military" post WW2 they have taken on guerilla's and guerilla style militaries but not a nation with an actual military no matter how small Ukraine's military really is.

If Russia is the military they claim to be then when they invade the Eastern part of Ukraine it should go as smoothly as the US military during 1991's Desert Storm when US flew halfway around the world to take on the 4th largest army which was battle harden. Also Baghdad had the second most dense IADS at that time second to Moscow. US and so called experts expected thousands of US deaths in that war but only 143 were actually killed in action so it shouldn't be too hard for Russia and likely wont suffer a lot of casualties, eh?

Neither the US nor Russia have faced a proper military. You think Ukraine has one? Without airpower, those 40k troops will fall in a day or two if the Russians really mean to invade.

Iraq's IADS was dilapidated in the 90s. The stuff they had was considered advanced in the 70s. And their army was largely obsolete compared to NATO. Having a large amount of crap only for it to be considered "dense" will obviously give you the wrong picture.

Ukraine is a tougher nut to crack than Iraq, because they are more likely to fight back and have moderately more advanced weapons, but they can't do much without airpower. Had the US transferred a squadron of upgraded F-15Cs 5 years ago, it would have at least been sufficient for deterrence. Now all they can rely on is old Soviet crap which the Russians know how to defeat.

The sole question is "when".
Even not sure USA will engage its armies.

The US has no choice but to protect Taiwan. If they fail, then the US will get dragged into a war once China starts taking Japanese islands, and this time they will have to fight without the Taiwan advantage. Taiwan gives the USN a massive military advantage.
I hope you are right.

So is USA, so is France, so is GB.
The sole with a real war post ww2 expérience are Israel, Egypt, Syria.

India and Pakistan too, since we were equal powers.

While Biden is busy playing with his balls & those of his European allies ( assuming they have any, while UK wonders what is balls? - do note Paddy, @BMD ) , the rest of the world is up shit creek w/o a paddle.

I wonder how will Paxtan negotiate this phase. Food inflation is high as it is in Paxtan. Add to it the fact that they're broke.

Kindly bring this to the attention of Avi Raina. I meant the Twitter version not the in house variant. @STEPHEN COHEN

Living in a world of his own.

Paxtan will keep begging Saudi and China for more loans , so they will survive for some more years

Get out much? US actually fought a real military in 1991. A real army with IADS and mechanize divisions and an air force which at the time Saddam chose not to use. Russia hasn't fought a war of that type since WW2.

Iraqs IADS was French based called KARI which was also connected to British-built logistics and battle management system called ASMA. It wasn't outdated the US had more training in defeating IADS.

If anything this should be a cakewalk for the Russians. Everything in Ukraine's inventory is Russia/Soviet made which Russian military should be very familiar with. Also it's just across Russia's border they don't have to travel halfway around the world like US did in 1990 so if anything Russian casualties should be less than US were in Desert Storm. We will see if all the hype of Russian military hardware is true in the coming weeks.

Lol. Their tanks fired steel shells and their IADS was designed to only handle small attacks.

Sure. 'Cause the Ukrainians don't have advanced fighter jets.
