while ukraine was boasting abt so called grand military success putin finished the referendum. For all the military stuff that ukraine boasted they could not stop the referendum from taking place.

They should have surrendered. it's stupid to backtrack from this situation, going to take heavy casualties.
My guess is they have participated or witness atrocities committed on Ukraine civilians and in their minds fear they may get what's coming to them if they surrender.
Have you seen how that referendum was taking place? Russian soldiers in arms going door to door, making people "vote" at gunpoint with envelope-less ballots so that they could see what the people were voting for?
And have you seen the outcome, in actual total number of cast votes compared to population? They've gotten their "overwhelming" results by threatening people and they still got less than 10% of the total voter base to vote. The rest hid to avoid the thugs.
And even then, you can be sure they cheated on the counting.

Some may be DPR/LPR/Wagner as well as Russian forces, but yeah. They wouldn't need to mobilise another 300k if the numbers were as low as Russian suggested.
He is bluffing. You cannot invade a country and threaten them with nukes if they don't give up, that is not how nuclear deterrence works.
If he was serious about it, what's to stop NATO giving Kyiv some nukes? NATO has held back from giving Ukraine better weapons to prevent escalation, but if Putin is going to use tactical nukes, what's the point in holding back?
