Communication worked till 1 km altitude that shows in my attached pic lander sent telemetry data. Before next set of data arrives as per refresh interval of software code, lander already crashed.
Read your picture correctly. You are misreading the information. The altitude shown is about 500m and the down range is 1.09Kms. Down range the range to the touch down point in x-axis read backwards from the point where the deorbiting started by harsh braking. Altitude is on the Y-axis.
it was automated so it could map the terrain and find its own landing place. That process began but the breaking and speed control did not coordinate with it. And as the graph shows it suddenly started vertical descend what happened next only pictures can tell.
