There is a general pattern in all "Ex-Beaurocrats". Once they are out of job they start giving opinions that how anything Indian is inferior to rest off the world. One of these days, one of these guys will write "Indian should not under estimate dodos, after all dodos were never colonized" or "India may find finds it hard to fight against dodo birds". The guy got it wrong. There is no message, its basically appraisal time in CPC. They need to perform in front of CPC leadership.
When it was dokhlam confrontation, the very same "ex-Beaurocrats" were opining how China had infiltrated in India's territory. Later we found it was a confrontation in Bhutanese territory on an initiative of India.
Being ex they have a better idea on India's defence and foreign relations preparedness than we ever know. It's only in these articles we can get some small details which they aren't supposed to tell but somehow tells it out.
No ex Foreign secretary or Defence sec are out of job. They join some think tanks and get some handsome money and also write articles, talk shows etc. His article is balanced.
