Really don't think it's just drones. Based on what I read, we are flying BARCAPs - PLAAF either has or might try some crap going forward. This is to prevent that. There could have been cases of airspace violations in the recent past (may be on/after 9th). Unless some one with sources can say, we won't know. But honestly, I don't think we will use Su-30s just for drones.

Our SU-30s scored a kill on Pak drones during our last border garba. Cringeworthy to see AAMs expended to take out 2 bit *censored* drones

We did not have a proper drone strategy until the Azeri-Armenian war. Now procurement is on for anti drone systems of all categories.

Chinese drones are better and are in UAV class. Those would merit a fighter CAP.

Are the Chinese testing some new UAVs or even UCAVs to check our reaction/response?

Just hope our Sukhois are armed with Derby-ER and ASRAAM in the North-East. Then the Chinese will have a nice pleasant surprise.

MKIs are there on the LAC, coz our LCHs haven't yet completed it's certification for A2A missile trials, for the present, if I'm not mistaken.

They could be armed drones, more over next time Chinese could also try to air drop their troops to give element of surprize.
 
So our troops did thwart PLA’s advance but we shouldn’t extrapolate it to an actual engagement. That fight is yet to come, speaking as an individual not dhoti shivered from past 2 years of medieval warfare.

IMHO we haven’t yet had a military engagement with PLA. We should focus on real thing than this college level fight because it will get hot and neither India nor China will be able to control escalation given how both armed forces are going hostile towards each other.
 
I hope the Chinese just stop wasting their time at LAC and instead focus on talking Vladivostok instead.

There is no need to escalate, but no need to compromise either. Chinese understand only the power of strength. Indian economy is moving in the right direction and China will try everything to derail it including paying to opposition parties to block projects.
