Explosion near Red Fort: At least 9 dead, several injured in blast

People might disagree with me and may even chide me.. but I believe, PM needs to make a statement on the lines of ... Muslims are part of India. Not everyone will be suspected. But who hide behind innocent won't be left. Urge muslims to boycott terrorists and if they find someone like that.

That day you were telling me to calm down, now what happened? :ROFLMAO:

So was the entire stash of 2,900 Kg was in that police station or it was just a fraction of that?

Anyways whatever might be the cause it's an unfortunate incident. Why was the explosive even kept in a police station?

The RICIN! That is a very very big thing which is being deliberately being kept away from highlight it seems. Otherwise the TRP media would be all over it. It could be to not spread panic but that keeps population being not aware of the danger out there. It has both good and bad.
Agreed. The RICIN being planned was the most nefarious. This would indeed cause a massacre. It has not been discussed as it did not generate ratings as the seizure of tons of explosives or as you stated it was neglected on purpose. Let's wait for the NIA to file a report and provide details pertaining to these various incidents. I understand a lot of folks are agnonized over the slow investigation. People need answers and they need a response as well. Wait and watch for now when it comes to Sindoor part 2.0. There is also the GPS denial aspects that are being probed. All events point towards grey zone warfare (if they are done by a single state actor).

Non-state actors usually lack the networks to plan sequential serious of assymteric attacks. GoI has its own set of constraints and also internal challenges when it comes to having a 'free hand'. Wait and watch for now, this is all I can say.

That's the point Panda. Incompetence or just an unfortunate manhandling are among those being suspected. It can happen.

Why was it not being held in a more secure location directly under the control of the NSG or the CRPF (if they were considering sabotage)? I am sure if I can think this at the top of my head, there are individuals in the Home Ministry who can as well. Does the FSL not have a lab or a more secure location to hold such explosives in the state. This all ties back into planning and implementation.

NIA needs better staffing, resources, and funding from the GoI so that it can function better in the future. Lessons should be learnt from this incident. If you are going to let it be the nodal agency for terror investigation at least ensure it has the adequate resources to be one. The babus are really leading things into the gutter when it comes to certain aspects of CI/CT and technical probes.

Exactly. These kind of small mistakes (atleast according to babus) always have lead to these kind of incidents in the past as well. Seriously this incompetence needs to go. Incompetence of babudom is why people linked with terrorist were able to work as faculty in an university in Delhi. And the founder of that university himself had a shady past. Maybe there are moles in babudom as well who knows.

Who needs moles. When you can just stuff their mouth with cash. Baring few, most of the babus don't have the foresight, potential dangers when it comes to such things.

But as you said.. our Beauracratic hurdles needs to be cut down for agencies like NIA and special units of police. Especially in sensitive cases. Must be a clause to override usual process and go into more streamlined, more effective and efficient mode.
i.e. The file pushing.

His employment was terminated due to charges of being close to certain groups or individuals close to Pak supported groups. He then just moved across state lines and found a new employer. It was as if he was fired for some white collar crime, was given a tap on the wrist and then proceeded to move on with his life. Coming to the owner, this chap should have never have been allowed to open this university. However, he has been running it like there's no tomorrow.

Apparently that terrorist doctor had some political connections in J&K. That's why he got away with a slap on his wrist. Terrorist getting into politics and administration is the biggest bane of this country. And it's especially visible in Kashmir.

Press Conference of J&K Police:

Blast near Nowgam Police Station in J&K last night | Srinagar | J&K DGP Nalin Prabhat says, "During the investigation in FIR 162 of 2025 of PS Nowgam, a huge quantity of explosive substances, chemicals and regents were also recovered from Faridabad on 9th and 10th of November, 2025. This recovery, like the rest of the recoveries which we have done, was transported and kept securely in the open area of the Police Station Nowgam. As part of the prescribed procedure, the samples of the recovery had to be forwarded for further forensic and chemical examination.

On account of the voluminous nature of the recovery, this process was going on for the past 2 days, which means yesterday and the day before, by the FSL team. Due to the unstable and sensitive nature of the recovery, the sampling process and handling was being done with utmost caution by the FSL team. However, unfortunately, during this course, last night, around 11.20 PM, an accidental explosion took place. Any other speculation into the cause of this incident is unnecessary. 9 people have lost their lives in this incident. 1 personnel of SIA, 3 personnel of the FSL team, 2 crime scene photographers, 2 revenue officials who were part of the Magistrate's team, 1 tailor who was associated with the team. In addition, 27 police personnel, 2 revenue officials and 3 civilians from the adjacent areas have received injuries, who were immediately evacuated to the nearest hospital... The building of the PS has been very severely damaged and even the adjacent buildings have been affected.

The extent of this damage is being ascertained. The cause of this unfortunate incident is being inquired into. J&K police stands in solidarity with the families of the deceased in this hour of grief..."

Prashant Lokhande, Joint Secretary of the Home Ministry (Jammu & Kashmir division), said that a forensic team was examining explosives at Nowgam Police Station as per SOP when the blast occurred suddenly. The reasons behind the accident are currently under investigation.
Taken from PTI:

At this point, it hardly matters if it is accidental detonation or not for the following reasons --

1. The explosive seized was meant to blow up somewhere causing widespread death and destruction.

2. There was an explosion of the same stuff in Delhi, killing ~14 and injuring ~30.

3. There is probably a sh*t ton of explosive still in the wild waiting to blow up.

4. Responsibility of attack claimed by PAFF (JeM).

Now, pertaining to 4, our stance immediately is - "They are lying" when, we know for a fact that this (1 - 3) was orchestrated by some JeM module here. So, them taking responsibility means, they take responsibility for everything, including the Delhi blast.

They have GoI by their proverbial ba**s this time. Such timid response by the state is unimaginable.

This guy is claiming it was ANFO which was stored. I am having a very hard time digesting this.

PAAF or TRF never claimed responsibility. Neither their official channels nor associated claimed it. It's just India today Bull sh*ting. There are some random Pakistani handles made claimed under the handle "falcon squad" which known to claim accidents as attacks.

I think I am gonna Avoid any place of symbolic significance till we have conclusive info on the threat being averted and atleast untill End of Jan.

Also any big gathering. This is all we can do from our side. Other than that, we are but small pieces in the larger scheme of things. Today they are looking for sending message. Later they start poisoning societies. The bar does not exist on how low a jihadi can get. ( 30 years ago, no one thought jihadi will be this much radicalised) Doval sir might just have to drop all pretenses and adopt western realism. Lohe ko loha ki katata hai.

I have one doubt that the the explosive are loaded with a booby trap, not a mechanical one but a chemical one, like the ammonium nitrate is mixed with some chemical that chemical will spontaneously go ignite ,so that the explosive itself explode without any human intervention.

The car bomb explosion in New Delhi was also like it wasn't intentionally went off , but as an accident . In that case any remaining explosive or anything prepared like that may go off wherever it is stored.
