Any attempt at increasing range through base devices will introduce instability problems at longer ranges. Same thing happens with Base bleed, boat tail etc..devices. Accuracy will need trajectory correction devices.How does it effect precision/CEP?, Question no one asking.

Yes I remember this, its a future project, that is to be made ready in the next 5+ years. So a medium to long term approach. Much like Pinaka which is evolving, new tech infusion try to accommodate new systems and make use of older stock in some innovative way.Army has mentioned a substantial the need for assisted artillery shells in the TPCR. Range requirement is upwards of 60km. IITM's shell can fulfil this requirement although ARDE is also working on a rocket assisted shell.

Is the 70-80% improvement in range is in test conditions at optimal angle? And they are playing it safe for wide range angles of fire in wide set of conditions and environment, by using 50% improvement ?

Nearly 50% in tweet is big underplay, a nose guidance kit and accuracy problem will be solved, even 70-80% range improvement with guidance kit will be more than good enough
