But seriously, it is good news, all those HXXX clowns are just there for Iran to stir up sh!t in region, possibly with impetus coming from Iran's CRINK backers outside the region. It's great news that it could finally be coming to an end, I suspect the Houthis will run into similar problems down the way, and Hamas likely won't be getting its $350m/year subsidy either. If so, it's been well worth paying ~20% more for fuel for a few months.

The most important development is Hays. Fully securing the district strengthens the government-held corridor connecting southern Hodeidah with Al-Khokha and Mokha, reduces Houthi pressure on those supply routes and provides a stronger base for further operations along the Red Sea coast.

The Houthis still control Sana’a, Hodeidah city and much of northern Yemen, and fighting remains fluid. Claims of hundreds of Houthi casualties are also not independently confirmed.But the direction of pressure matters.

Did you put up a post about Iran firing a warning ~12000k antiship missile near the carrier that got too close? Then the carrier vacated the area and is at standoff range now, Trumps big revenge was to then sink a couple of grey fleet tankers

It still gets some oil out by land and possibly the Capsian too, but nowhere near the previous volume. It's also possible they're selling off oil & gas assets to raise revenue.

Soviet KGB intelligence officer Vladimir Kuzichkin during his posting in Iran. He served as a KGB major stationed in Tehran under diplomatic cover before defecting to British intelligence in 1982. His memoirs, published as Inside the KGB: My Life in Soviet Espionage, detail his clandestine assignments and eventual defection.

In 1973 a young Soviet translator named Vladimir Kuzichkin arrived in Iran...

Recruited by the KGB before he even left Moscow, he trained at the elite Red Banner Institute and returned to Tehran in 1977 under diplomatic cover.

His job was to run illegal KGB operations across Iran, Afghanistan and Turkey.

In 1981, Moscow was backing a plot to overthrow Khomeini using Iranian communists, with tanks staged across the border in Afghanistan and Turkmenistan, ready to roll in on command.

Control of the Strait of Hormuz was the prize. Kuzichkin walked out of the Soviet embassy and crossed the street to British diplomats, ready to hand over the entire plan.

Inside the embassy bathroom Kuzichkin laid out the coup preparations to Ian McCredie, MI6's Station Chief, along with a directory naming over a hundred Soviet spies and diplomats in Iran.

For months he fed MI6 intelligence while still working inside the KGB. By spring 1982 he decided he could not stay any longer and made his escape through Turkey.

He landed in Britain that October, the first officer ever to defect from the KGB's secretive Directorate S.

Once debriefed by MI6 and the CIA, his intelligence reached the Khomeini regime, which used it to crush the network he had just exposed.

Nearly 200 people were arrested and executed, most from the communist Tudeh Party, their leaders forced to confess on television.

Eighteen Soviet diplomats were expelled, and Moscow's coup died before it ever began.

Very interesting piece of information. Till date it had been my understanding that the Tudeh Party ( Iran's Communist Party ) was one of the participants in the 1979 anti Shah of Iran revolution which was eventually hijacked by Khomeini & his Mullahs .

Around this time Iraq invaded & the Mullah Regime there took advantage of the fact & started purging dissidents at home especially the communists.

Now comes this piece of revelation. However what's unclear is whether this move was in response to the purges carried out or was independent of it ? Or was the purge initiated by the Mullah Regime in response to this piece of information ?
Perhaps we'd know someday the exact chronology of events. Just goes to show the amount of western manipulation of media , history - contemporary or otherwise & narrative building.

What we take for granted as facts are not so factual as subsequent revisitation of those same events reveal.

Not justifying the Mullahs here for from our PoV their continuation in power is not to our benefit but the west is pure evil. It's not for nothing the Mullahs have termed the US - The Great Satan aka Shaytan e Bozorg.
