If these orders are being given now, I doubt that the 1st proto will be rolled out anytime in 2026, or even by 2027, but if these are for the 2nd proto, then that changes the whole scenario.

The tail has gone F-16esque but the front fuselage does look a bit sus (area rule)
One of the problems with MK1 was its abrupt increase in area in the forward section which resulted in high supersonic drag. This is the very reason they made the MK2 longer than MK1.
As far as I'm aware, the Tejas Mk1a was elongated to the Mk2 to have a larger and more powerful engine, increase it's internal fuel capacity and add in canards, can you explain how the tejas mk1a breaks the area rule compared to other delta wing jet or mk2? Cause I don't notice it much apart from the longer front section.
