So can they be used target aircraft carrier ?

Even for 30 minute update, a carrier at max can travel to 30-35 km from last known position.

With previous data with some AI(statistics), we can narrow down the uncertainty in position and speed of carrier.

LRAShM has 60km of range for it's seeker.

So can we target a carrier with just this satellite ?

Yep.

30 min is for full FoV update. The satellite can provide a 5-10 min update in a few user-designated high-priority areas. The speed of a refresh rate depends on the size of the high-priority area. If a CBG has been identified updated imagery will come in at less than 5 mins.

The OODA loop will look like this:

Navy's surface fleet will probably be the first to identify an incoming CBG. GISAT series/RISAT series/CARTOSAT series will provide near-real time target positions. NAVIC series will provide precise co-ordinates for targeting. These co-ordinates will be fed on to the GNC of say LRAShMs &/or Brahmos etc. The missiles will fly using their INS-GNC system, get close to the target to use their own seekers. Here, the Navy's surface ships can provide additional guidance using data link, guiding the missiles to target.

We have a kill chain. What we don't have is redundancy. We don't have enough sats, enough ships, enough missiles etc. to make this a sure shot. Now with private space startups providing imagery to the MoD, some of the gaps are getting filled. We are still at least a decade away from having a proper redundancy.

We badly need weekly launches & much bigger heavy lift launch vehicles. I genuinely don’t understand why this never ending lethargy continues. In 2024, we put only around 8 tonnes of cargo into space, compared with 174 tonnes by China, 95 tonnes by Russia & a whopping 2,181 tonnes by the USA. For a 4 trillion $ + economy, this is honestly embarrassing. It is high time we stop moving at a snail pace, get our act together & start thinking & executing at the scale which is expected for a country of our size.

Overloaded departments and manufacturing plants, manpower is low government doesn't want to recruit as they have to pay pension and different priorities.

We can also work with other neutral countries who don't wanna side with USA or China/Russia.

Being non aligned has many disadvantages, but still has some good advantages .

We need space diplomacy, many countries like UAE, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia and others would love to have their satellites (including militry one) in space.

Infact, indian private sectors can make good satellites and can ever make lander/rovers (with help with ISRO), we can offer them complete solutions from orbitor/lander/rover to moon/mars once we have powerful rockets.

Agreed, commercializing satellite buses (where a customer can add their own payloads), ride to space, data relay services, landers, deep space communication, possibilities are limitless.

For that you need some really good talent hunter HR Managers who know whom to recruit without any reference. Adani/Reliance/Mahindra are doomed because of their HR Policies, soon people will stop applying here as well just what happened with ISRO. Only the new startups which clearly go beyond reference, purely on skills and experience and fire to innovate deep tech will lead in the coming 6-7 years. Like Agnikul and Skyroot and others.

This is India's last hope other wise Reliance/Adanis, Babus and old styled baniyas have ruined us with minuscule patwari jobs both in tech and management.

There is so much experienced talent abroad who are Indians top notch experts in deep tech but HR Policies in India is like bhaichara policies. This has to be changed. Or else jai Mata di.

HR Managers have no idea how to hunt the talent in India. Trust me this is the basic problem.

Five years ago, when India opened up its space sector, we had two clear objectives: enable ISRO to conquer new frontiers and empower our private industry to scale up.

Today, we are seeing both take shape.

EOS-05 is a major achievement by ISRO, and this is just the beginning.

At the same time, from barely a handful of space startups five years ago, India today has over 450. Indian private industry has already flown a rocket to orbit.

Now comes the real test: scaling up.

We have set ourselves an ambitious target of 50 launches a year by 2030.

A goal of this scale cannot be achieved by one organisation alone. Government and private industry have to build this future together.

ISRO’s research will continue to push the frontiers of what is possible. Private industry must translate that momentum into manufacturing at scale: more rockets, more satellites, more launch capacity and new technologies.

That is how we will build a complete space ecosystem and create the capacity to match our ambition.

The opportunity before us is immense: build in India, launch from India and serve the world from India.We are well on our way to taking India’s space sector to a new orbit, figuratively and literally. @isro @INSPACeIND

I don't have much confidence in ISRO doing all the Gaganyaan shit in proper timelines. Even if they do, they do in snailspace that even other middle level countries would catch up.
 
Final Accountability Rests on the Minister concerned with ISRO

So There is no harm in Taking Credit

Just as MODI JI takes credit for Infrastructure projects

And HRD Minister resigns because a Professor ie Paper Setter Leaked the NEET papers

If one wants credit for the successes, one must also shield the team during failures. Review his tweet behavior, when ISRO hits a failure -- he disappears.

He does deserve some credit for opening up the private sector... but even that is something I doubt he 'fought' for.

Without Political Oversight NO Government department works properly

That is why ISRO and DAE have always been under the PMO

Yet another example of a successful mission. I will wait till you can find a tweet where he accepts responsibility for a mission failure.

It is like this , I mean just my 2 cents

Suppose something goes horribly wrong in ISRO

AND If the opposition asks for his resignation, then he would resign , no doubt but ISRO' s Top Brass ALSO would have to quit

And that would create a Huge problem for the Organizational morale and effectiveness

So after the recent 2 failures of PSLV , the prudent thing was to put a Unified Effort into improving and turning around the Situation

By the way the PM did send MR DOVAL to ISRO HQs to get a first hand experience of the prevailing situation

In my opinion Mr. Doval did plan some thing and many ministers and workers have been baited. ISRO may not get privatized at all, I think this was just a disinformation came from NSA office and now they will blacklist the black sheep in ISRO, Political leaders and Private companies.

I am very sure private players are also involved in sabotaging ISRO to gain government contracts to manufacture for ISRO.
