Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning and F-22 'Raptor' : News & Discussion

No. They are considering the block 70 because their 4th gen fleet is aging quickly.
They are considering F16G because their F16 fleet is in 40s and F35 can't replace it fast is what I meant

USAF is still inducting only around 40 F35 annually which is rather low

.
USAF is considering F16 because the F35s are coming very slowly

They also can't increase the production because Block 4 and TR3 are delayed
F-35 and f-16 fulfill different roles entirely. They need a low cost fighter with less risk of loss that can do CAS and other mission sets at aow cost. F-35 just cannot replace the f-16 right now.

I'm not making guesswork, it was established plan that F35 replaces F16, A10 and some units of F15Cs. F15EX replaces rest of F15C

Now it's being changed to additional units of F16Gs since, like last week. And F15EX replacing F15Es which was also stated few months ago

That put F-35 at a very affordable 500 USD million price tag. :ROFLMAO:
Ignorant as usual but that is a Rafail fanboy for you. Because you're slow I will help you a bit the deal is not $500 mil per plane the deal comes with a huge package deal which one of them is over 50+ engines not including the parts and US personnel etc etc etc...

If we use your simple logic the 2011 F-15SA deal was $350 million per plane.... that is what a simpleton would believe.

It was an established plan that failed.
F-35 is too expensive to operate compared to the a-10 or f-16.
The capability they provide is vastly different.
F-15EX was never supposed to exist in the first place according to original USAF plan.
They just can't.
A-10 provides a very low cost option for the USAF (still more expensive for most global AF's).
The f-16 can replace the a-10 essentially everywhere the f-35 is a high risk option that is not supposed to be wasted right now.

it's not a deal. It is a proposal.

Idiot your self. It's 48 jets and 49 engines.
Missile pasckage? why ? SA already have a full range of AMRAAM, AIM9X, LGB....

What a shame your BS doesn't match reality, All FMS customers pay the same price for each item in the year of manufacture

Under U.S. policy and the Arms Export Control Act (AECA), Foreign Military Sales (FMS) items are generally priced to recover full costs uniformly, meaning the base equipment or service price is calculated the same way for eligible international purchasers as it would be for U.S. Armed Forces procurements. [1, 2]

📊 FMS Pricing Framework
    • ✅ Full-Cost Recovery: The U.S. government cannot profit from or subsidize FMS sales; prices must recover actual acquisition and production costs. [1, 2]
    • ✅ Parity with U.S. Forces: End items are typically sold to foreign customers at the same base contract price or volume pricing tier calculated for the U.S. Department of Defense. [1, 2]
    • ⚠️ Surcharges & Fees: While base prices are consistent, final costs vary per country due to mandatory add-ons like the FMS administrative surcharge (currently 3.2%), packing/crating fees, and non-recurring R&D recoupment charges. [1, 2, 3]

Yo Pops & Sweetie!

Further evidence it doesn't take much to take Amerimutts & Aussies for a ride especially the latter as the Chinese discovered long ago.

AUKUS then is a liability. For whatever tech is in development will eventually find its way to the Chinese. Ja? @Innominate ; @Optimist
Trump just has made a proposal to the chinese to sell them US weapons. Must be in the package.
États-Unis : Donald Trump a proposé de vendre des armes à la Chine, selon un ambassadeur américain

If you believe anything Trump said, I can sell you the Sydney Harbour Bridge for a very cheap price of $1,000

Your missing the point Pops. Dolund will tell his audience back home, this shipment "unwittingly" diverted to Hong Kong was actually part of the package the US has put in place to sell China & that that was the advance shipment.

Since we've already established it doesn't take much to take Amerimutts & Aussies for a ride, that's the end of the matter.
