Indian Science and Technology Developments : Updates and Discussions

Was doing research on QKD for my school project and came across this, apparently they are planning a QSC(Quanum supreme centre ) which is basically a data centre for quantum computers. Their first QSC will host 100 q computers and have 10,000 logical cubits which is a scale never heard of before, atleast I haven't. They already operate the largest Quantum foundry in Asia. Will truly put us among the frontier nations in Quantum computers research and deployment.

Expression of Interest (EOI) for Transfer of Technology (ToT) of 1.5 Tesla Indigenous Magnetic Resonance Imaging (IMRI) system

The Society for Applied Microwave Electronics Engineering & Research (SAMEER) is an autonomous Research & Development institution under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India. SAMEER carries out application-oriented research and technology development in the areas of RF & Microwave Engineering, Medical Electronics, Medical Linear Accelerators, Electromagnetic
Compatibility (EMI/EMC), Photonics, Antennas, Communication Systems, Radar Systems, Thermal Engineering and associated software technologies.

The Indigenous Magnetic Resonance Imaging (IMRI) Programme, initiated under the aegis of the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, and implemented by SAMEER in collaboration with C-DAC and IUAC, has resulted in the indigenous development and integration of several critical technologies required for a 1.5 Tesla MRI system, including RF coils, high-power RF amplifier, FPGA-based spectrometer, control and monitoring systems, pulse sequences, image reconstruction/visualization software, patient couch, and superconducting magnet technologies.

The objective of this Expression of Interest (EOI) is to identify technically competent and financially sound Indian industries for Transfer of Technology (ToT) and commercialization of the indigenous 1.5 Tesla whole-body MRI Scanner developed by the IMRI Consortium under the IMRI Programme. The selected industry shall undertake technology absorption, product engineering, manufacturing, system integration, testing, regulatory compliance, commercial production, deployment, and lifecycle support, with technical handholding from the IMRI Consortium.

Specifically, the EOI seeks participation from Indian industries interested in:
  1. Acquiring and absorbing the IMRI technology developed by the IMRI Consortium through a structured ToT process;
  2. Manufacturing and demonstration of 1.5T clinical scanner using IMRI technology with hand holding by the IMRI consortium

The generic was developed by India-based Dr Reddy's Laboratories under an agreement brokered by Unitaid, the Clinton Health Access Initiative and Wits RHI, a health research institute in Africa. The partners sought to accelerate development and make the drug available at an affordable price.

The drug is expected to cost USD 40 a year per person in the countries where it will be available, the same price as daily preventive pills currently available. However, the shots are much more convenient because they are needed far less frequently and nearly eliminated new infections in two groundbreaking studies of people at high risk.
