Creating this thread to try to simulate with help of chatbots on what is the best way to requip IAF in the short to medium term with the given constraints.

I asked Perplexity to give an estimated CAPEX budget for IAF for next 10 years.

Sharing the report below.

You all can also try, the idea is just to do a white paper analysis atleast on the forum level.

Doing this because we do have the resources, even though the current attitude of MoD and IAF might make you feel otherwise.

PS: I know the report below will have a lot of inaccuracies.

You forgot the ISTAR and COMJAM aircrafts. Kusha SAM as well will be ready for induction during this time period. Also we're forgetting the Ghatak RPSA project which might likely see large scale inductions. IAF is acquiring 8 MQ-9B, with it also leading the 87 MALE/HALE UCAV programme that may or may not include indigenous HALE/Archer-NG.

AN-32 and IL-76 might also need replacement and C-295s and if C-17 line re-opens, are likely to replace them.
