Already include in the F3R. And only inside changes for, by exemple, support futur conformal side radarsdoesn't the F4.2 require airframe change ?
OMG. But we can't choose a effing plane without this farce either.
This method is the correct way to do it. It includes field trials and competitive bids.
Even HAL had to resort to competitive bidding in order to reduce the ELTA radar's price for the LCA.
this is for the opposition to shut up. or pappu will shout throughout his life that Modiji has favored his friend Ambani to win the contract. we both know that's got nothing to do with the contract. if dassault is happy with reliance, i'm good. everybody knows its either gripen or rafel. single engined or double engined. do the deal, save the time. time is money. but no, we have to do this cause pappu and co. exist.
The biggest drawbacks for Rafale's competitors.
F-16 E/F - Single engine.
Gripen E/F - Single engine.
Mig-35 - Russian.
F/A-18 - With the Advanced Super Hornet cancelled, the SH Block 3 is not adequate.
Typhoon - Expensive. Modernisation has not kept pace.
Except for Typhoon and Gripen, all the other jets are too old for us to bother with. While the Gripen has kept pace with modernisation, hopefully the new export orders for Typhoon will force them to modernise quickly. At least both aircraft come with Meteor.
politicians in the past have ruled india. like a mf'ing king or a queen. the ruler mindset has not gone from their minds. you will still see this mindset in the piss filled parts of india like bengal, up, bihar, chattisgarh. and india is slow to change when the change comes from the bottom of the pyramid. but changes flow faster when the top starts to shove things down the chain from the top. hence Modiji is quite important for national security. *censored* politics.
Parikar saab was the DM for a such a short time and the first person to sort out the post UPA II defence mess. including the OROP issue. he showed excellent work. fast tracked scorpion production, arihant testing, literally shoved the Tejas down Arup Raha's throat. Literally. Arup Raha was forced to go public with the statement that Tejas is enough for IAF. he had never said that before. including tipnis all have said, good plane, excellent plane whatever...nobody said that this is what we can work with. this is enough for our needs. raha was the first IAF chief who said that. under Parikar saheb. and this is when ? when IAF was screaming to anybody who would listen "we want 125 rafales". what did they get ? 2 sqdns of rafale and rest a big order of Tejas and the Mk1. like how it makes sense when you are within a budget. not oil sleek.
see what happened ? BJP wanted him back as Goa's CM. After barely a year, he went back to his native Goa as the CM. Internal politics took priority over national defence and who took the decision ? BJP, the ruling party. what will you say ? there is nothing to say..
It's not what the Swiss eval leaks shown.Rafale not that capable in A2A as Eurofighter
Thus each plane has its shortcomings
Sorry for him. It's sad.Parrikar was a good and effective defence minister for few decades already
He was perhaps the most educationally capable DM
Sending him to Goa was a necessity as else BJP might have lost Goa,
BTW he is suffering from Cancer and was recently in USA for his treatment.
The two-way data link with Meteor was offered as an option to all our export customers (including India) after the advantages and disadvantages were explained to them. None of these clients chose this option.Rafale not that capable in A2A as Eurofighter, (two way link with Meteor)

The two-way link is a massively overhyped gizmo, but it isn't that important in practice. Much more important is to have a radar powerful enough to exploit the range of the Meteor -- and only the Rafale has that.Rafale not that capable in A2A as Eurofighter, (two way link with Meteor)

Don't make me laugh with the Typhoon's CAPTOR-E, it has yet to exist, and whenever we hear about it, it's to say that there are further delays.
That 2 way link doesn't mean much. It's a nice feature to have, but has no real relevance to actual combat. It is primarily meant to tell the aircraft that the seeker has locked on.
And I wouldn't put too much hopes on the Typhoon's radar. The Rafale F4 will blow it out of the air.
Nothing yet.@vstol Jockey
What's the status of MSA ?
Naval flight test chief joined your company ?
Ukraine wind tunnel tests ?
Any progress that can be shared with us ?
chose the one you want ....Massively overhyped? Thats what typical answer from Rafale fanboys when found wanting.
And its true that CAPTOR E is delayed, But its not that India will be buying the plane tomorrow off the shelf.
So going by possible Indian time lines, Typhoon does make a good sense.
Further in A2A combat even the swiss eval which many Rafale fanboys quote, I believe Eurofighter scored more than Rafale did it not?
