They'll be corruption and incompetence. Both reflect poorly on groups involved in the process. However, we should not be surprised. It could also be a combination of both of them.

If Tejas Mk 2 was a reality by now, I would've shitted on the thought of buying more Rafales. But unfortunately, Tejas Mk2 wont become a reality for quite some time more.

The more this country invests in Rafale ecosystem the more outmatched it will be against any adversary (not just paxtan), forget china. These a/c WILL NOT fight in your domestically developed networked environment. The double whammy is that these rafales are so expensive they are eating up enormous amount of capex that would have otherwise improved our own networked war-fighting capabilities multiple times over. If your $300 mil+ gold plated rafale was just as susceptible to being shot down as a decades old jaguar or mig 29 or su30 then what was the fcking point???
Why not invest in these??? pretty much the same or superior capabilities on offer as compared to gold plated rafales.
That domestic capability was visible in the air defense architecture & how well that performed compared to these gold-plated rafales.

And PAF was asking for J35 instead of additional J10 , why is that..
if the dia increased to 190mm, won't that be a given assuming all other parameters remain the same? can still have same fuel since pyro charge will be there for activation of 2nd pulse.

Most probably Astra-2 will be inducted this year with range upto 240km ( more than PL-15 & meteor ? ).
They have done ground trials of Astra mk-3. Looks like we are doing good progress in BVR missiles.
Astra Mk1 - Demonstrated range 110Km, Planned 160Km
Astra Mk2 - Planned 200Km, can be increased to 240Km. Cold launch and buddy mode engagement possible. Integration done with MKI, planned for LCA mk1A.
Astra Mk3 - Planned 350Km, AESA Seeker, Ramjet propulsion proven on ground. Few years needed to start testing.
If old guys here remember my old posts then I always maintained that we could easily increase Astra MK1's range to well beyond 160+ kms using better propellants and lofted profiles. AIM-120D is also a similar example which does 180kms+ with a single-pulse rocket motor.

Range increments don't happen overnight, the development of the ER version of the Astra Mk1 & Mk2 has more to do with the changing in chemistry, density of the propellants they carry on which R&D has been going on for years and less about the PL-15E found intact.
Associating the improvements being carried out with the Astra Mk1 & Mk2 with the PL-15E debris being found intact is a great disservice to the scientists who have put their sweat & blood into this program.
These low IQ influencers literally know nothing about this.
