If you know the Italians well, you'd realise they're a garrulous lot. They mean the exact opposite of what they say. But Brexit or no, it's sure fun to be seated out here and watch ex colonial powers on their way down.

Btw - We'd be very interested in the GDP/Capita of the RoI in a couple of decades from now.

Europe has 508 million inhabitants, without the UK it will have 445 million inhabitants. At the moment GDP per capita is very uneven, but one of Europe's goals, which the UK does not understand, is to make progress in the countries with the lowest incomes. That is why the richest pay more than the poorest. Germany has achieved this with East Germany, which has made significant progress. When GDP per capita has equalized, it will be time to think of a federal Europe that will be as powerful as the United States.
Germany and East Germany are one country, and not only did the inclusion of East Germany ruin their football playing ability, it also brought them Merkel. The Eastern European countries have GDP growth which approximately corresponds to the amount paid to them by the EU plus remittances. There is near zero underlying growth.

By the time that happens Britain will have joined with the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand in a trading bloc to form an economy twice the size of the EU. And that trading bloc would likely pull members away from the EU who have had enough of the EU's heavy-handed over-regulation, free citizenship and asylum policies.

From your perspective, you're so low that you wouldn't even notice if they did fall.

But but but, you're mistaken. According to our mutual pal @BMD here, these are at best temporary inconveniences.

A huge golden treasure chest lies at the end of the rainbow - the rainbow being a trading bloc of all Anglophile nations with a majority WASP populace and similar cultural values.

He'd love to disclose more but right now it's all hush hush.

There are certainly issues in the EU but being in Europe allows the UK to try to correct or change whats needs to be changed. Sitting on the outside but having to abide by the rules is the sh1test position ever.

Garbage. We hit a budget surplus for the first time.

Dont like an article call it garbage. Its your way.
Several reliable sources are suggesting the same. According to your philosophy they are all wrong - keep dreaming and living in your bubble.

The advantage of being "so low" is that you can can only rise from here on whereas the disadvantage of being so high & mighty and bloated and boastful as you are is you can only fall down. And remember the higher you are, the steeper the fall. Hope to bump into you on the way down.

Here we go again. Feel lost defeated - cant accept an opinion - lets do a personal attack. Are you really this sh1t and insecure my dear fellow?
You insinuate and suggest a level of intelligence - your posts and 1 liners suggests something else.

Let's face it. As long as you were in the EU, you were always suspected as a cat's paw for the US if not it's proxy. There must be a whole host of EU philes out there breathing a collective sigh of relief at the exit of the UK.

From a global perspective, while we wish to see a multi polar world, we certainly don't want to see another pole as strong as the US with similar political, cultural, financial views and clout emerging, now or in the distant future.

A more truncated and floundering EU suits our purpose well. For the Chinese, Brexit and other Eurosceptics gaining ground is manna from heaven. They'd be the immediate and biggest beneficiaries of it.

Depends on how stable to foundation is and plenty manage to stay low and never rise.

If we'd lost £26bn per year, the deficit would have risen by ~1.3% since June 2016 and it hasn't, so the article is complete horseshit. The end.

Patience, Flanagan, patience. All good things to those who wait. You shall be "amply rewarded." Amen to the thought.
