Britain Could Buy up to SIX of Boeing’s E-7 airborne early-warning and control aircraft

AEW&Cs aren't going anywhere anytime soon, even in their present guise. 90% of the time the operations are not against peer militaries, that said, even today, lumbering Boeings and Airbuses are pretty vulnerable targets if inside hostile or contested airspace anyway.
Indeed. Stealth aircraft aren't the norm yet and against non peer militaries an E-3 is good enough but the sale of Russian and Chinese VLO-attempt aircraft could change that. That's why the E-7 is the best choice to cover the interim period. The more advanced ELINT capabilities will at least be able to detect the AESA fighter radar from long distances.

Everyone's buying G550 CAEWs...including US Navy (telemetry ranging), Italy, Singapore (and Israel itself). The E-7 was developed more as a budget solution for lower-tier militaries like ROK & Turkey.

I totally forgot since I only have one pick and the Italians didn't give me clearance to share the rest (I guess they don't want me blowing the lid off what they've got inside), but I got a chance to fly on an Italian G550 during NATO air-ops during Trident Juncture 2018. Really impressive aircraft.

Unfortunately all you'll get's the picture. Like I said, the Italians don't want me gabbing about the G550's capabilities versus NATO's E-3s against different classes of targets (Typhoon, F-35, B-1B, Tornado, Gripen, alot of allied aircraft and ships to test against during Trident Juncture for both AEW&Cs platforms).

Needless to say it's damn impressive.

Both the G550 and the E-7 will be impressive vs the E-3 because the E-3's radar pre-dates Desert Storm.
