Analysis Free Trade Agreements (India): New and Upcoming

India's Current Engagements in RTAs - Mcommerce

Ongoing negotiations of India for trade agreements.
Surprisingly there's only one with Africa - the SECU & the last negotiations we've had with them was in 2010 . It's either our myopia or the total dominance of the Chinese there or a combination of these & some other factors.

In any event it's not a good sign for both - our foreign policy & economics.

Critical ones like with EU are stalled. I don't have much hopes here. Whatever happens is a bonus for me.

FTA with UK is not going to help us in any way. We need FTA with peers having similar market/potential & with whom we can have complementary trade not with countries in economic decline which are looking to piggy back on India.

We should be looking to grow our industry by getting cheaper raw materials and make them competitive. FTA's with countries like australia, russia, indonesia ...etc which have natural resources/commodities will serve us better.
