Guns mostly kill shitty people. And it's mostly the shitty people killing each other. It's a sort of auto-ethnic cleansing. They also allow decent people to protect themselves from absolute scum. Britain got this one wrong.

Madam, it's perhaps fitting we're having this discussion in the funny section. Had it been outside of it, ppl would doubt my sanity. You, otoh, always have the excuse of your heritage in such circumstances.


I stand by my version of why Britain isn't a carbon copy at least as far as gun ownership goes of the US. It's coz there's a paucity of Irish there as compared to the US. No NRA too.

I can't see how the quantity of Irish play into it. What these stories don't tell you is that guns save more lives than they take and obesity kills more people than guns. In the UK the law treats the criminal as the victim and ignores the victim. In the US the criminal is shot by the would be victim. It's a much better system of justice.
