REQUEST FOR INFORMATION FOR DAMP LEASING OF ULTRA HEAVY LIFT HELICOPTER (UHLHs) FOR IAF
The Ministry of Defence, Government of India, intends to Damp Lease Ultra Heavy Lift Helicopters (UHLHs) for IAF to meet its operational requirements for an initial period of two years with an option to purchase the asset thereafter.
3.Intended Use of Equipment. The UHLH would be utilised for operational requirements of the IAF. The flying requirement of leased UHLH is below:-
3.1 Flying per month per aircraft 30 hrs
3.2 No. of aircraft required 3
3.3 Average duration per sortie 3 to 4 hrs
3.4 Minimum Assured availability on flight line 95%

News from HAL Concall :
- Cats warrior ground tests successful. Prototype being built. Next year first flight.
- Mk2 rollout last quarter this year. Could be delayed to March 2027.
- Rotary UAV prototype completed. Ground tests are on.
- GE 20 engines expected. 1 engine in June. 2 engine per month August onwards. 21-22 Tejas 1A completed, engine ground run completed. 20 Tejas 1A deliveries this FY.
- Su-30 1 in FY 28,11 in FY 29
- Super Sukhoi design phase 5-6 years. CCS approval this FY.
- No comments on Su-57.
- HTT-40 engines will arrive from next month. 20+ aircraft deliveries this year.Completion in 3 years.
- Uttam radar in 97 batch of Mk-1A. DRDO hasn't given production clearance.
Looks like Talon Shield SPJ would hit flight trails(on a Su-30MKI) along with HAWK-I 2700 GaN AESA by the same company. So a private sector competitor to DRDO Virupaksha & ASPJ/HBJ GaN pods.
Looks like Nibe Ltd. will also be making Rampage in future. It is a Make-3 project approved back in 2024.
It is commendable that Data Patterns has come up with this on their own intiative. The IAF should've ideally invited proposals from other pvt firms like Astra Microwave as well which already supplies a lot of components for the Uttam radar.
Astra Microwave concall
- Virupaksha radar development from their side to be completed in next few months. Full radar can be completed this year.
- Angad EW development going on.
- Ground penetrating radar with a startup. Trials done, refining it. Offering it via tenders.
- Developed and delivered subsystems for digital array radar for the drdo.
- Developed and delivered a photonics radar with a startup. Part of a drdo project.
- Working on offering miniaturized radars in the future.
- Uttam Radar order in Q2 or Q3.
- Virupaksha radar could be qualified next year by DRDO.
Outright lying about the time to production order related to Virupaksha.
It's impossible in the next 2-3 years as they are claiming. Apparantly BEL said not happening in next 5 years. Even that is optimistic. But, understandable as its their biggest future looking program.I was today year old when i know that j10ce use gan based aesa radar which has much higher tr count that Rafale's radar
Rafale is a stupid decision.
we have 3 options currently:
1) go one su57 fully(over 200) if no sanctions by usa and eu
2) go and beg f35(may be they will force f15ex/f16v, its fine )
3) prey that china wont attack us before 2040(and also hope that we will have twin engine bigger ghatak and 6th gen plane ready)

Just because J-10C uses GaN, doesn't mean IAF is obsolete. Air combat isn't just about one jet vs another, rather about one system taking on another. And rest assured that our battle system is as good as any. Regarding your three points:
1. Locked and incoming.
2. Beg? No. No. & No.
3. Lol.
PS: Rafale is a great decision which enhances IAF's combat prowess.
Chinese battle system will be atleast as good as ours.
so if battle system is not deciding factor them what will ?? Its tech ! And number , in both we are lacking massively
just 2 squardan or assembly innindia with over 100 su57 ?
Well option 3 is needed to be done regardless of other 2 option. (Twin engine ghatak and j50 category fighter)
if we are importing su57 them why not collaborate with russia and try to develope adaptive cycle engine(with wet thrust >200kn) for 6th gen . If we get french like offer then its win win for both, as russia tto need adaptive cycle engine but dont have enough money
Idk, i only like this deal because it will give us engine tech. Otherwise i like su57 more(if we dont get any sanction from eu/us)
Our tech is as advance as theirs and we'll have the home-field(read our IADS) advantage with us.
Both. First 20-40 jets directly from Russia followed by 100-140 local assembly of MKIsed version.
Russians have offered Item 177 engine with a future growth path towards turning it into a VCE. So what you wrote will most definitely happen for real.
