The @IAF_MCC An-32 that crashed today was from the 43 Squadron 'Ibexes' based on Jorhat, Assam. Casualties:

One week gone, still no clue of An32 
Not the first case of Antonov gone missing and never found. 3 years ago one went missing in Bay of Bengal and never found. One of the most crass thing in this episode is IAF announcement of financial reward for locating it.
MoD should take a serious call on state of affairs of IAF. Every other day we see one plane crashing or other, yesterday a Mig29 fuel tank fall down and created fire at Goa airport.
Either revamp this force by fixing accountability of incompetent decision makers who can't fit a decent beacon on jet or please keep it only for name, 20-30 jets will be enough for air show participation. Lot of small countries want Air force and can't afford it, our old planes will fetch decent price instead of crashing all over the map.
Also commendable is Air Chief and other top leadership love with their post, mishap after mishap and literally no improvement but the man is so in love with his perks that tendering resignation is blasphemy for him. If government is not approving anything why the hell can't you resign and apprise the nation of state of affairs?
Dhanoa sir when you get time after erecting Rafale replica to taunt a political party please do visit IAF too. There maynot be any airforce left for your successors if this state of affairs continues. Please for sake of some post retirement governorship or ambassadorship don't play with life of jawans, take the responsibility and go home.

Missing AN-32 located
The wreckage of the missing #An32 was spotted today 16 Kms North of Lipo, North East of Tato at an approximate elevation of 12000 ft by the #IAF Mi-17 Helicopter undertaking search in the expanded search zone..

This aircraft seriously off route. How could they go so wrong in Navigation. They probably deviated good over 25 kms from their track.

Is there a chance for the occupants to have para jumped?
Its clear that the aircraft has flown into the hill. As I had posted above, they were off track by over 25 kms and this means they decsended in wrong valley resulting in CFIT-controlled flight into terrain.
Couple of these fly all day over Agra City, heavily populated area for PARA training. Putting elite force in it over populated area is not inspiring much confidence. Some exhaustive review of An32 needs to be done.
The aircraft is perfectly safe. It also has an onbaord navigator who guides the aircraft in hilly terrain where the signal from radio beacons is not very good. How it deviated so far off track is still a mystery.

This possibility by Beepdelete is most improbable. the aircraft had taken off from Jorhat and ideally its path would have been as shown below.
It appears to me that they punched wrong cordinates for the point from which they were to start descent into the valley which would have brought them over Menchuka and than they could have landed. But they probably went further to the east and descended in an area which was higher than what they had assumed resulting in hitting the mountain.
I remember my own experience of flying to Leh in A320. We always descended in the approach valley only when we had the ground around us visible even though we had very accurate navigation aids. The SOP for us was to abort and return to Delhi if the valley had clouds. Climb to MORA-minimum off route altitude and head back.
In the picture above you can see a ridgeline which needs to be crossed before commencing descend into the valley. The area around the crashsite is about 2-4k higher than the actual descend point and further north of the crashsite you have snow covered hills.
