Indian Missiles and Munitions Discussion

A Mysterious Missile Been trying to figure it out since I found it Came up with 2 possibilities 1. Either K4 minus pseudo 1st stage (low probability) 2. Or K5 (high probability) IMO L/D ratio of K4 is higher (via K4 video) vis a vis this one hence higher probability it is K5

Reading this, and recent Skyroot rocket which uses Solar groups supplied propulsion system, it reached Mach 5 speed within 25 sec. Went up 89km in first try, say if we were to replicate/design a similar propulsion based surface to air missile but that can maneuver in the final stage, is it possible? how much range could it give say in SAM role and a different config air to air role?

We all know about DRDO working on a 3 pulse motor. It will most probably be a SAM.

And then we have image of XRSAM which has a booster and is part of ERADS. So, this 3 pulse motor based missile can be ERSAM and with booster it will become XRSAM.

Could be a SAM but could also be an AAM. Say Astra IV, with range around 300kms and price half of SFDR. SFDR aka Astra 3 is going to be a very costly missile. Having a cheap alternative that has similar range is not bad at all.

Purpose of this SAM is probably the same as stunner interceptor....to intercept modern maneuvering short range Ballistic Missiles. Only thing to see here is whether it will have a dual seeker like stunner...cause that will be a game changer.

Stunner interceptor has been tested as a BVRAAM by Israeli

If it is part of ERADS then it can have multiple roles:

Most probably a SAM. If need be then A2A version can be developed.

We have seen this pic before I think, from ground trials.

Does anyone know who are industry partners with RCI for this & the MR project? Would have found out tentative milestones.

I sincerely hope we go in for the Lora. It's name has a nice ring to it. Imagine the next time we've to execute a mission like Balakot, a Prahaar missile being launched won't excite the news readers breaking news or the viewers viewing the broadcast as much as the Lora being launched.

We need order a few pieces only . It'd be icing on the cake when Paxtan discovers what they've been hit with. If only for cheap thrills let's order a few Loras. @lcafanboy

What say maamu? @safriz
