The first prototype had some critical defects pointed out by RDSO. Work on those has happened. And more and more components of EMD locomotive is tried to be used to bring down costs.
Without the COVID19, it was planned to get RDSO approvals for the new prototype by June end and start production with an initial conversion rate of 10 locomotives a month.

Do you have any photos of the engine ?WAG 12B has been tested at 132kmph. Initial target is to certify it for 100kmph operation and later to 130kmph goods operation.
