The delay is not bad considering the war. But I do hope a third deal goes through, there are rumors of it not happening.
No need to buy anymore..... It will already be outdated by the time it enter.... If you are going to buy, buy at least super Project 22350 frigate.

Rather than refurb a rusty old Akula hull, India should push for leasing a Yasen for the kind of money we'd be shelling out. Make the Russians an offer they can't refuse. If not the latest M version, they may come around to giving us an older boat. The circumstances in which it happened are not clear but Chakra- II suffered serious damage during her time in the IN. Why take a chance?

The timelines do not match. 2028 entry would mean 2037-38 exit. Although the IN Chief says we will get our first 2 SSNs by 2036-38, I find that quite unlikely 'cause he's given SBC only 5 years to build them. A replacement sub from Russia would ensure all our 6 SSNs can be used operationally instead of for training. So we need another sub to make up for the gap. This was always the plan.

22530 is pretty good, but we have no need for Russian surface ships anymore. Buying generic stuff from Russia has come to an end.

Definitely. If possible, I'd like a choice between Yasen and Suffren.

And the first of the Yasen could be coming up for refurbishment by the end of the decade.
