The Defence Ministry signed a contract with Cochin Shipyard Limited for the short refit and dry docking of INS Vikramaditya at an overall cost of more than Rs 1,200 crore. The Defence Ministry said that this project is an important step towards the development of Cochin Shipyard Limited as a Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul Hub for supporting the industrial ecosystem of India. INS Vikramaditya is an Indian aircraft carrier commissioned in the Indian Navy in November 2013.

  • Final Operational Clearance of INS Vikrant: INS Vikrant, the first indigenously built aircraft carrier of the Indian Navy, post-certification of aviation facilities, commenced Final Operational Clearance in January 2024. As part of the FOC, more than 750 hours of flying have been undertaken from Vikrant with various types of carrier-borne aircraft, including extensive day and night flying by fighter aircraft and all types of helicopters in the Indian Navy.
