Even if All of Afghanistan is dead , the world will not give a damn
They are crazy people always divided along tribes , ethnicity etc etc
They were never one nation
All that remains to be seen is the blowback in Pakistan , which many Pakistanis are worried about
Just sheer bloody-minded resolve and determination not to allow a bunch fnckwits to run a country in peace.
They were actually doing okay until the 1970s when a Soviet-backed socialist coup overthrew the government and started reapportioning land creating those tribal divisions.
If Afghanistan had access to the Sea ,
US ,India , NATO would have sent many thousands of Troops just like Normandy landings , so Geography is the Biggest Curse on Afghanistan
However , If Afghans wanted to really unite as a nation and move forward , then the last
20 years was the Best opportunity
But Greed , Corruption and Rampant Tribalism has brought them to where they are
America did its best , these Afghans are
Beyond Repair
While US forces were present , they were targeted by these same Afghans who
Are now fleeing the Taliban
Good for us. That means Pakistan loses its last chip in its dealings with the West.
The groups are now defined. We must prepare and dig in.

Various theories doing the rounds . This is one of them . The US State Department has already reversed it's proscribing of the ETIM who've moved into Badakshan in big numbers . As usual this is Afghanistan . You never know who's batting for whom & who will emerge victorious.
Sometimes I wish I were Paddy. His worldview is so uncomplicated . His eye sight doesn't recognise any color besides black & white & he's not even color blind. At least in as far his eyes goes. His intellect is a different matter altogether. @BMD
China's most important oil pipelines coming from Turkmenistan to Xinjiang are in immense danger plus the Uighur movement, China has that's why done a deal with them but then you never know. The situation could spill. these are people with multiple factions and multiple links.
Shooting and killing unarmed civilians running for their lives is going to haunt US Military and its allies forever. What has happened today in Kabul can not be deleted from civilized world if there is one left at all.
You should be ashamed for even wishing such things for our enemies, forget about the friends in Afghani civil society. What India must do, should do can never be built on the tomb of other party. Racism is so much out in open in our own society, it's hard to fathom.
