Israel to admit thousands from India's Jewish 'lost tribe' – DW – 11/23/2025

Israel says it is preparing a plan to bring thousands of Jewish-identifying Bnei Menashe from northeast India and resettle them. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said it was an "important and Zionist decision."

Looks like Satanyahud is using non Ashkenazi / Sephardic / Mizrahi Jews as cannon fodder once again. For all the show of Israel being the homeland of the Jews there sure is a heirarchy in operation there with Ashkenazis at the top.

Now that privilege has been extended to Sephardic & Mizrahi Jews too which renders neo converts like the B'nai M'nashe the role previously undertaken by the former groupings.

GoI seems to be co operating as most of these Jewish converts tend to be Kukis. The objective seems to be to defuse the situation in Manipur by encouraging emigration to Israel thru conversion. How many will bite remains to be seen for while the standard of living will be better in Israel , safety will be fraught with danger everyday.

The real fun will begin when Kukis try to exert pressure on GoI in the future thru Israel & possibly the US in support of their territorial ambitions in India & Myanmar vis a vis their goal of creating a cross border pan Kuki / Zo / Chin / Mizo homeland.

The art of thrift & grift is something one can learn from the Jews. Here's a good example - the Haredim are an ultra orthodox conservative Jewish sect who've consistently refused the draft .

Not only that , a good section of them have consistently opposed the creation of the state of Israel & Zionism . It gets better .

The males don't work as they are involved in religious studies & similar pursuits. With the result the task of earning & running the home falls on the females . In addition they also receive state benefits.

It gets even more better. The average rate of births in a Haredi household is 5-6 children if not more as compared to Jewish households of other sects or secular Jews who normally have 2-3 kids.

A bit of history. When Israel was formed the leaders of the Haredi community went to Ben Gurion in spite of known opposition to him & the Jewish homeland movement requesting exemption from military service on grounds their beliefs prevented it apart from the proposition that Israel also needed religious scholars to study & interpret Jewish law .

Ben Gurion & the others accepted this request also because the Haredis didn't form more than 2-3% of the total population of Jews in Israel then. Since then their population has ballooned to ~ 20% of the total population of Jews in Israel. Yet they consistently refuse regular military service & the draft.

Incidentally a section of these Jews have also been holocaust deniers standing in solidarity with Palestinian activists in the west protesting against Israel .

In fact in the early 2000s when the then President of Iran Ahmedinijad organised a conference on the denial of the holocaust in Iran , the only Jews who participated in that conference was this lot.

I thought our religion was a mess with sects at cross purposes with each other given their opposing philosophies , rituals , praxis , etc viz Vaishnavism & Shaivism , Vaishnavism vs Shakta practise etc but the Jews are in a class by themselves.

I doubt the total population of Jews exceeds 20 million worldwide but there's hardly a sect which doesn't differ from the next sect willing to use violence to prove their point or superiority if necessary.

A documentary on the Cochin or Kochi Jews who claim they were in Kerala since King Solomon's time which'd put them being here ~ 1000-800 BCE.

Though that seems an exaggeration , there was a thriving trade with the Levant & Egypt in those days .

The earliest documented Jewish communities in Kerala are thought to be from around the time of the destruction of the 2nd temple in Jerusalem with the arrival of both Jewish & Jewish Christian sects like the Knanaya here .

Today of course the entire community has shifted to Israel with barely a handful left in Kerala.
