Jammu & Kashmir live updates: GOI remove all provisions of Article 370

These are the critical steps -
Merger of JK bank with sbi.
Union territory status meaning state security now permanently under home ministry.
The corrupt dynasts will be replaced by panchayats as the centre's way to hold kashmir.Panchayati raj now on.Both legally and in funding.

As for pakistan those talking about dismembering pak or taking pok are overexcited.First one will be global crisis,possibly nuclear .2nd option will bring in possible chinese mobilization.No need for either.Pakistan if it tries anything foolish ,i believe we will activate operation kabbadi updated version.Take over adjoining crucial loc sectors like haji pir.

As for infiltration of talibs,it will be a total massacre.Kashmir is a fortress now.Fenced,drones,thermal imager troops and 155 mm arty and spice bombs for pre emptive strikes on launchpads.Fighting in afghan soil and on fortress like loc is totally different.And para sf and marcos are waiting behind them.NSG deployed forhostage situations.IAF loaded with new missiles and radios.A few thousand talib heads will lessen the pressure on the ANA infact.

There is a proven window opening up now like no time before.

It will be lot clearer rest of this year and next year. Their go-to-card has always been the varying levels of separatists (operating on dime of indian state even) talking as the voice for "all" in Indian Kashmir...and their little stone pelting pay-as-you-go riffraff....in the last vestige of outright "mini-pakistan" two nation theory vindication inside India.

These all operated precisely because of vast buffer offered by article 370. Now that goes and deep down they know this is a done result...because they know how well integrated and patriotic Indian muslims are (overall) in rest of India....once the levers of true unified platform, development and opportunity are there for everyone as a citizen first.

In their minds they never thought the ' hindus' would ever show such balls.They were too used to the congressi barkha types who lack conviction.
2nd is they fear an israeli style population displacement quasi genocide.This wont happen,though kashmir will be assimilated now,but thats the internal pakistani paranoia forever.

Third is the grim realization that despite all the propaganda they are actually powerless to stop us.They are learning their aukat,and its distinctly uncomfortable for their psyches.

I haven't gotten the opportunity to truly understand what the implication of this move is, but irrespective Shah has solidly booked his place in history given the massive momentum of the nation behind this. And this truly seems to be a shah special, even in the last term such move seemed almost impossible.

Ante was upped, massive retaliation on the borders, cockroaches were culled, all the tourists were evacuated and in a tight lockdown the hammer came down. This was done in clinical precision, now I hope we are also able to manage the diplomatic and asymmetric blowback with finesse.

Diplomatically there will be zero blowback,modi and jaishankar totally gamed handsome pm and qureshi.
Assymetric blowback will be brutal for pakistan infact,especially as more 155 mm guns arrive,significantly excalibur rounds for their bunkers on reverse slopes that have not yet been touched.
My sole concern is reaction of JK police and their loyalty.Not worried about a few more burhan wanis,they will be culled rather easily.The new panchayati system is vital now for administration going forward.

Oh we will....there is a long preparation that was done, lot of blood shed over the years...and too much is now invested in getting a complete level playing field everywhere in the nation (without having some historical baggage identity usurp and ruin it) to pull back now...rather than being "chalta-hai" "good enough" if it applies to some instead of all kind of attitude.

There is increasingly some chance and long term hope that we can finally debate on policies and national projects that matter (and align our politics up that way - which was always the intention of being a secular democratic republic)....and not be pawns to be divided and pitted, black vs white on some irrelevant identity first (preached and dictated by the fringe groups that are most vocal)...on some elitist's board game.

ppl are not rationale but emotional. I dont know what makes them thing they are always right. They fail to accept /acknowledge the fact that ppl on other side of the border have inalienable historical rights too. All that we hear is brainwashed history of kashmir is theirs without no logic or reason, it is simply drilled into their heads.

Jammu and Kashmir police has always unhappy with the way they are led by the local Kashmiri government. Thousands of J& K officers died due to appeasement of local government and villification of forces when they retaliate. For a long time J & K police preffer Governor rule. I remember the statement from Chief of Jammu and Kashmir police from few months back that actions against terrorists are smooth under governor rule than J & K gov. That statement riled up PDP and NC and started cursing him not long ago.


J& K police under center will be more free to deal with militants without any political pressure and they prefer it that way. But yes, there may be some defection, but not in large scale.

FATF sanctions + severe fiscal crush for "friendly" neighbour.

China + US locked in trade war.

US+allies and Russia cold war style tensions increasing.

Focus on Iran....gulfies are locked in there in their own cold war with them.

Huge political mandate and leverage in hands of one party inside India which now by this move likely consolidated it even further for decades.

This gives a good amount of leeway to get on with conclusive business without too much unwanted attention and foreign nose-poking where its not required....given our constitutional and institutional framework is robust and security apparatus has been put through the fire for decades now and is quite well honed too.

It just needed the will and momentum to get past the earlier psychological barriers and narratives....and since that is happening now, its gonna keep going now....because we ourselves have been holding ourselves back a long time...rather than any other factor. So its going to be quite a big rebound now to better more secure and confident scope of nationhood.

Turkey, China and UK apparently. More like according to few others they agreed that decision affected pakistan and it was their right to respond.

This new fight will not be for Kashmir. Pakistan Army needs to make some noise otherwise how will they justify 70 years of propaganda. They will come in make some noise and then look at the US to save their hide.
