Iam still not satisfied with the armament on the ship, only 16 brahmos?

Yes, this is a smoky ship.
It's got Ukrainian Zorya gas turbines and Bergen diesel motors.
Brahmos is an anti ship missile. A heavy and deadly missile (but still not war proven. Is its seeker good?). It's far than enough, be sure.Iam still not satisfied with the armament on the ship, only 16 brahmos?

The 90+ for the chinese figure are SAM, not anti ship ones.
It's not 90+. It's 64 VLS ( ASM, LR SAM and quad packed MRSAM) for type 52D. The advantage is the flexibility to pack the 64 with different types of missiles, based on mission.
Kolkata class does not have that flexibility. It's 16 Brahmos and 32 Barak 8 LR SAMs.
I've read somewhere that there is enough space on the Kolkata for future upgrades.
I read that too. If you look at the ship size, currently the missile compartments occupy minimal space.
Actually Kolkata class has more unused space compared to type 52D.

Yeah. There's no space to expand the Brahmos inventory anymore.
There is space between Brahmos launchers and Barak 8 on the front deck. Extra Barak 8 can be accommodated at the rear side of the ship.
Too early to say anything. We don't know what's underneath it.
At the rear too, there's the two hangars.
From what I know, 32+32 is the current inventory of Baraks on the Kolkata class. 32 are in ready to fire mode and 32 are available as a reload. So this number can be doubled to a total of 128 SAMs at max. Or a more typical number would be the addition of 32 more and bring the total to 96.
Correct. But considering that navy designers have overall done a good job with Kolkata class, I would expect them to load the ship with similar no of Anti ship missiles as destroyers from other countries or at least leave space for future up-gradation. In case they didn't leave space in Kolkata class, they would have definitely fixed that in Vishakhapatanam class. Since Vizag class did not go through any major structural changes, it can assumed with high probability that Navy designers have already taken care of that aspect. After all if we can see the issue, the professionals must have thought it through.
Plus it's not only the destroyers, our frigates are under armed too. So there is a pattern which indicates that more Nirbhay/Brahmos launchers will be added a later stage.
In the end, it's just a guess. @vstol Jockey What is your opinion on this?
