Personally speaking oct-dec was the timeline I was believing the roll out will happen. So slip to say Jan-Apr is not a very big jolt for me. Vis a vis Tejas MK2 atleast.There goes all the fanboy moment..

The AMCA story is a jolt. I was expecting the first flight by late 2025. But 2027 means that many a things which I thought were already in advanced stage are not so.

As per S Jha, the roll out times are as per tweets put out by Ankit Kumar. It's been confirmed by ADA to him.U mean chances are there to roll out early or even more delayed
Further, as per him, the delay is on account of lack of funds & ADA having to make do with residual funds of the FSED project of LCA Mk-2.
Fresh funds for both Mk-2 & AMCA are to be allocated by GoI next year.

Amca metal cutting has already started I don't think it will take 4yrs for proto type rollout.
Hmm, as I said. The delays couple of months happen. So the MK2 delay is not a concern as of now.
AMCA on the other hand. Given that construction activities had started, so I was hoping for anything in between 36 to 48 months of build. But by the new timeline, add another 12-15 months ....
This will sting in case Pakistan goes for supposedly 5th gen options from China.
Yes , 36-48 months was my expectations too. Let's see. I think in October we will have a clearer picture. Def expo is scheduled then. Let's see.

Seems like funds did indeed delay Mk2 project. I am sure the sanction of funds won't come fast .. We can expect some more delays.. I cannot understand why GoI is delaying our own projects when it's already late. Usefulness of Mk2 in next decade won't be as much as in this decade.
Lack of funds would mean only select activities are undertaken. It could also mean some key technologies are still being validated. The actual process of ordering , especially long lead items would commence only next year once complete funds are allocated.

6500 approved now, around 2500 was approved previously.
I believe residual funds of this previous allocated money and FSED 3 was being being used for prototyping.
