The canards need a vertical separation and horizontal separation based as a percentage of wing MAC to deliver best performance and the aircraft must be designed accordingly. LCA is a high wing aircraft and now adding canards to it will not give much of a benefit as the vertical separation of Ymac of 0.15 can't be applied. What ADA is trying is that they are trying to provide crutches to a guy without legs.

What is the use of stub wing here?

Is it air force version or naval version? I'm no expert but it looks naval version to me.

Airforce version. It mentions 24 assemblies to be delivered per year.

Noob question : Is engine nozzle length of a fighter plane considered while measuring it's entire length.

Not noob, but a valid question. Nozzle length is included and will add to the existing 13.9m length of the fuselage. The final length will therefore be over 14m which takes us to the speculated fuselage extension of 1m or more.

Good Day!

In the past you have told us, it will improve performance but maximum cannot be extracted from the design..

Why would ADA guys add Canards if there is not much of use .

Since originally in Mk1 they found out Canards is not much of use ..

Canard addition should make it a completely new design, also incorporating stealth is something ADA/HAL must work on. The front by no means looks like a stealth design and addition of canards will add to RCS, I hope they figure something out.

One positive point, this time the designer ADA is working closely with the manufacturer HAL, it will make MK2 easy to manufacture.(y)
