Soltam upgraded M46 guns at work, they outgun Bofors due to 45 cal canon. Firing at upto 38km, these solid guns are placed 18-20 km inside our territory, and still capable of firing 15-20km inside.
And given Dhanush is only a battery strength as of now, it wouldn't be used.
To fight a war - long or short, skirmish or a battle of attrition in this case, requires finance and a decent economy failing which all the propaganda in the world can't save for a lack or proper equipment and boots on the ground.
Let's not forget that in a year when the US in all probability will be gone from the US & Pakistani regulars will don civilian garb to fight alongside the Taliban as they did 20 years ago to win Afghanistan for the Taliban, the western front would be free leaving them additional troops to be deployed on the eastern front. That doesn't solve the economy though.
Wasn't Soltam upgrade deal cancelled on grounds of corruption ? We did receive some of them though, rest of the M46 was upgraded by OFB.
