I'd have you know Cogito ergo sum doesn't apply to optimists. Descartes was notoriously unsure of himself & despised optimists. The original phrase was dubitodubito ergo cogito ergo sum. I doubt, therefore I think, therefore I am.

Don't worry. My quote is by Paul Valery, who is also a French philosopher and may not share some of the proclivities of Descartes.

People demand freedom of speech as a compensation for the freedom of thought which they seldom use.

If there was a Talk Tank position, you'd definitely make the cut. ;)
