Mirage 2000H, MiG-29UPG, Jaguar DARIN III - Medium Multirole Aircraft of IAF

Extension of Mig29Ks life is kinda possible. Mig29UPGs? No, not possible.

The OEM will write up a paper for pennies, that doesn't mean guarantee.

The Soviets never operated Mig21 for more than 25 years, we should have done the same. They Russians are replacing Mig29 after 40 years, our plan is for 45 years. Shouldn't stretch it anymore.

The faulty FADEC used in RD33MK is used in RD33 Se3 also. An accident waiting to happen.

Very smart move. Mig 29 UPG is already a beast and since IAF is looking to increase its life by another 10 years, they better put Uttam AESA on it along with new gen QWIP IRST.

They are also looking to extend the life of SU30MKI. And according to some IAF is fed up of these birds and only accepts them because of political pressure.🙄
When a western OEM says that a system is fit for 30 years, 40 years, 4000 hours or 6000 hours , etc

They actually have done the engineering and testing for it. And they actually intend to use it themselves for that long. Thereby allowing any person to believe on the guarantees of say LM, Boeing or Dassault.

Russians on the other hand, they just need money. If a paper from their printer can do it, they will send in that paper. That OEM guarantee is useless. Never use a Russian system longer than the Russians themselves use it.

The stress and strain on a metal, a small chapter we all kinda ignore in our higher studies, is a really strong force. Shouldn't joke around with it.

We should induct this.
More like DODO guys should by now have a reliable

1. GPS/INS guidance kit
2. A laser guidance kit
3. An EO/TV/Laser/GPS modular kit for special operations

4. A glide/range extension kit based on the 1 and 2

5. A rocket range extension kit based on 1 and 2

But here we are.

If second hand mirages is what we want, then there are plenty to go around. Eg, UAE, Taiwan.
Qatar ones were preferable. Could have been transferred earlier, lots of hours left. Could be put into service with just simple servicing.

Taiwan isn't giving any up. UAE will start retiring only from 2027s.
